We have lived on Daniel island for 4 years. Sermets is by far the best restaurant here, but not only here. I have only had comparable meals in 2 or 3 restaurants in Charleston proper. So lucky to live close enough to visit sermets regularly!

I went to the restaurant in May/June and the food was amazing and the service exceptional. I had the Roasted Beets and the Long Braised Short Ribs The restaurant does have outdoor seating, but a reservation is recommended.
Family of six. The food was great, service was very good. The only negative was theKey Lime pie, very difficult to describe, but it did not taste like Florida Key Lime pie. Also, the decaf coffee was not hot.

Sermets is only open from 5-10 PM. I have no idea what time you called but try again after 5 pm and remember that the James Island location is closed on Mondays. I have only Eaten at the Daniel Island location.
