Our yearly family pilgrimage/ holiday up the mountains within the lovely village of Yesiluzumlu would not be complete without the gastric delights that is Sumak. A fully refurbished traditional stone building located just of the village centre. Great owners, fantastic service and oh, did I mention the food. Traditional Turkish recipes, Seasonal with ingredients fresh and locally sourced. Presented beautifully and it is here where East meets West, as stated beautifully presented traditional (Turkish) with the never leave hungry (Irish) mentality! Great portions for foody people served up in art form, too good to destroy, way too good to leave. Front of House, Mehmet is fantastic where nothing is a problem, charm personified and and offers a relaxed yet attentive face of Sumak. Bee and Connor, the engine room and artists, creating great food in a great venue and everlasting memories for a holiday. Sumak is a treat, it is not an also ran, it is a fine food experience and one I would recommend to any Yesiluzumlu visitor. Finally, Sumak is a jewel in the crown that is this lovely village, I am glad it is so popular and deserves its place within in the community. Long May it last and as a family we will be back to enjoy the great great hospitality. Thank you.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Ranked at the best meal I’ve had in Türkiye. Well worth the drive up into Yesiluzumlu where you arrive in a cooler authentic village and the delightful Sumak restaurant. Bee and Mehmet were perfect hosts and their food was amazing. Huge portions - went for the halloumi to start which was delicious, others went for arancini balls, prawns and the mushrooms and each declared theirs the best. Sea bass for main - again enormous plate with vegetables and potatoes, others couldn’t finish their chicken pies as so generous. Would love to return and spend more time in the village and hopefully squeeze a dessert in too! Will be back. Also the soft drinks were lovely too - didn’t miss the alcohol at all.

Have eaten at this stylish and unique restaurant several times and we are never disappointed. The food is simply amazing. Fresh local produce is always used and celebrates the seasonal variety that’s on offer. The menu is elegant, offering a good choice which caters for everyone. The service is very personal and relaxing.
The hosts Bee, Mehmet and Connor really have thought of everything to make an experience you just want to do over again. Portions are generous to say the least so go hungry when you visit. Once you eat here you will want to return to try the other dishes on the menu. On this visit we had steak cooked to perfection and of extremely high quality along with sea bass which was the best fish I’ve ever had. For starters the tomato & pepper soup was sublime and the prawn cocktail was amazing - so many prawns with a fabulous sauce. Highly recommend Sumac and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Another stunning meal at Sumak. In this quiet village in the mountains, Bee and Mehmet serve food that is head and shoulders above the competition. Their weekly menu draws on the freshest local, seasonal produce. Tonight we shared a delicious crispy goats cheese with figs (huge portions are part of the thing here). I followed with a perfectly cooked steak with a pizzaiola sauce. My wife had the sea bass with a tomato and caper sauce - among the best fish dishes she has ever eaten, and certainly the best in Turkey.
Go, but go hungry. You will not be disappointed.

Even the best cook can't do well if they don't start with the best ingredients. One of the many outstanding features of Bee's cooking is the careful selection of fresh products of the finest quality. Mehmet is her shopper, and he spends a considerable amount of time finding out what is good each week, otherwise it doesn't get on the menu.
You have to order from the menu beforehand (sent by email a couple of days in advance) so this allows Bee to concentrate on making the most of the available ingredients. Best of all, she's such a talented cook!
We are just so lucky that we live in Uzumlu, and get to sample her many tasty dishes every week. I can't recommend any one dish - really, it's all so good. And in any case, the menu changes every week according to availability of local produce.
And no it's not cheap - but it's certainly the best value for money you'll find anywhere in this part of Turkey, as long as you allow for the quality of the ingredients and the excellence of the delicious dishes that Bee prepares so carefully.

Bee & Mehmet are amazing hosts.
The quaint restaurant is relaxing with a personal vibe.
Quite simply, Bee's dishes are stunning. We have eaten at Sumak for several years. The menu is unique and no two dishes are alike each time we visit.
The steak dishes are outstanding and the puddings divine.

Without doubt, the best food I have eaten in Turkey. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I had such amazing food anywhere. This is fine dining where the ingredients are allowed to shine. Run by Bee (a lovely Irish lady, and the chef) and her husband Mehmet, Sumak is not only a must for anyone in the area, food of this quality is likely to draw people from further afield. One piece of advice: Skip lunch, the portions are huge.

Homemade fresh Gazpacho. Tender steak with an infusion of flavours. Fabulous desert. A scrumptious meal enjoyed by all the family. Bee and Memet are fantastic hosts, they made sure we were happy customers. Definitely recommend.

YesilUzumlu is a lovely location and Sumak typifies the vibe and feeling of the village. Hospitality of the highest level and a dining experience which was second to none. Be and Mehmet went out of their way to welcome us and we’re there when we left with a friendly chat at the end. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone. Booked via messenger. They send through the menu choices for the day you've booked in advance. Choose prior to your visit. This way the cooking is top notch and fresh. Tiny restaurant 14 max so booking is crucial. It is a quality restaurant in a rural village. Very different food from any other restaurant.classic european real treat after 2 weeks of kebaps. No alcohol due to proximity of the mosque and school, however " Saudi champagne" was fine.( apple juice and soda.) Great place.

Top quality food made with fresh ingredients, healthy portions and fantastic flavours. I had creamy mushrooms for starters and sampled some of my wife's prawns which were both beautiful, for mains I had chicken and pineapple skewers that were cooked to perfection while my wife had sea bass with crispy roast potatoes with a lemon dressing and she loved it, I would highly recommend dining at Sumak.

OMG, the food and service was totally amazing! I had the prawns and they were utterly delicious, succulent and tasty!
It was topped off by the beautiful white chocolate and raspberry ice cream cake.
I’ll definitely be back!!!

We went for our honeymoon dinner here on Wednesday and the food was outstanding, we will definitely be returning.The owners are amazing hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The pictures really don't do the food justice
