Had a lovely Sunday lunch, good selection to choose from on the menu. The Yorkshire Puddings are huge and delicious as was the meat and vegetables. Staff were great too. Definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely evening sitting in the garden at the Griffin. Had a smashing evening mid week meal. No complaints, Food was of a good standard as was the Service. Will be going again and would certainly recommend to my friends.

We went for dinner recently and do not think the value for money is as good as it was. The prices seem to have gone up and the portion sizes down. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the food is good, Overall its a very nice place.

I ordered two fizzy wines (which come in a small flute glass); total disbelief when the young barmaid thought she had put too much into one glass then dribbled a teaspoon amount into another glass… Pathetic beyond belief… maybe management should reconsider the training given.

Good afternoon. Thank you for the review. As per my wine menu the fizzy wine ( glass of Prosecco you ordered) is served as a 175ml measure and in a standard flute size. I'm sorry you feel this way but as per the (weights & measures act 1985) I must give the correct amount and this is how the staff... More

Went out for dinner with my husband and thought we would try the Griffin as we had not been there for a while. Starters were amazing, The Bubble & Squeak Cake with poached egg was delicious, my husband had the chilli king prawns which were also good. We ordered the Paella and the Crab and Prawn Tagliatelle. The paella lacked... More

Whilst we did not dine here the menu was comprehensive for pub food. Sitting on the main road from Danbury to Chelmsford, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of garden furniture and how the road was obscured. Sitting beneath the trees my brother and I enjoyed some quality lager and cider and can heartily recommend this... More

My friends and family have visited The Griffin many times now and have never been disappointed. Lunch with my Daughter, Granddaughter and a friend - 2 of us had baguettes with chips and salad, reported to have thoroughly enjoyed. I love the fish and chips and my Granddaughter always goes for the pizza which looked very tasty. Complements all round for... More

On previous occasions I have been very disappointed with the Griffin but with new management and a new menu I thought I would give it another try. The menu is not vast but there are dishes to suit most tastes and none in our party were unhappy. Two of us had Paella, which was more like Risotto and having a... More

The food here is generally ok. Starters were ok, and the roast fairly nice although the beef was rather fatty. The child's portion of sausage and mash had very little mash (our 3 year old is not a massive eater and polished it off in no time) but taste wise was fine. Service was on the slow side, but friendly.... More
