Managed to book a table at short notice. A fine selection on the menu with plenty of atmosphere in the place, the staff were extremely pleasant providing great customer service. The food was full of flavour and plenty to choose from, with afters if required. An excellent place to take the family including young children. With a beer garden in... More

Came for a Sunday lunch. Restaurant wasn't too busy. Service was very slow throughout, starting with orders for drinks. Had to ask twice for bread (which was just sliced brown and white bread - had they run out of decent bread?). One of our first courses (breaded goats cheese) had almost no goats cheese in the breaded balls. We complained... More

Not been here for a few years so was very pleased to remake its acquaintance. Walk in through the front door with a wooden partition to one side, which reveals a snug on the other side. Leading off is another room, large red terra cotta tiles oak beams 'olde worldly' furniture and a dart board on the wall inside its... More

This pub is fairly unique in that you can pop in for a quiet drink after cycling or walking and dress code is open. If you want to eat (best to pre-book) the restaurant is more up market and people do tend to dress smart casual for dining. The food at this restaurant is superb and they cater for all... More

Four of us went for lunch to celebrate an anniversary. None of us had been there for years so it was something of a trip down memory lane. After a drink we were shown to the Cowshed restaurant which was quite busy and we were pleased that we had booked. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the lunchtime menu had... More

This pub/restaurant is a little hidden gem. Driving past it looks like a boozers pub and sort of is when you walk in. The restaurant is at the far end and is brilliant. Me and my partner always come here to treat ourselves. We both work in the hospitality industry and Steve( I think the manager) is such a nice... More

Dark and grubby with rude snooty staff felt uncomfertable throughout the meal as the atmosphere was deadly quiet

This is one of the cutest little pubs I've ever been to, Super old and thatched roof it's hundreds of years old. Low ceilings and tons of atmosphere make it a wonderful place to go ,sit inside our outside and bask in the history and enjoy a great beer and food, If you are visiting from another part of the... It took half an hour to order a decent bottle of wine (no stock behind the bar) and the wait for food was lengthy. The platters were average: no flavour, the fish was poor quality and the sauce for the mushroom was burned and inedible. A shame as this is s lovely pub.
