We stopped here on a recommendation from a local friend that lives in Sulmona ... we were visiting Rosello and stopped for Sunday lunch... the place was filled with local families and children... our food was excellent all homemade and fresh. Suggest to just let...them help you with the ordering ... on Sunday it was $25 dollars a person and we got a lot of food ... There is a store below the restaurant that sells cheeses and meats. Make sure you buy some ricotta cheese it is the best I have ever had ... we just loved the place.More

Our tour guide, VALENTINO from all around Italy, took us to this local restaurant in the hills in the Abruzzo region for a delightful lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was filled with families enjoying food, wine and conversation. The food local, served family...style, from the cold appetizers to the 3 kinds of Homemade pasta was presented beautifully and the serveers did a great job.More

I love the fact that finally we can eat the great local food of the region. Wild mountain lamb, chicoria (boiled , then fried turnip tops with garlic and olive oil) , grilled Scamorza cheese and wonderful homemade pasta. If you are not local to...this area take the time to drive up , the country side is breath taking .More

My Lord! We were in Italy for three weeks and had just a litany of great meals, but this was the best. A small farm restaurant where everything is made on property. So much incredible food! It was all great, but I must say the...ricotta was the best I've ever had in my life. And it also appeared in this amazing cake for dessert. Wow.More

My wife and I have traveled to Abruzzo every year since 2002, and every year we dine at "Lo Scamorzaro" two or three times. In brief, "Lo Scamorzaro" in the best restaurant in the world. The first time, we were on the road leading from...Molise to Abruzzo. It was past 2 PM, way past the time for pranzo. In fact, the door was closed. We spotted a young lady harvesting potatos in a distance. We waved, and she waved back, and came over. We asked whether she knew whether the owner lived on the premises. She proudly announced that she was the owner. Her name was Concetta. We said that we had missed pranzo, and we were hungry. "No problem" she said. She opened the door, and invited us in. In minutes she served a great pranzo. We have been going every year since. "La Signora delle patate"; i.e. Concetta, is the best advertisement for her restaurant. She has become a good friend.More

Our uncle, a priest in a local town, recommended this restaurant to us and we had the best meal of our lives here 5 years ago. This summer, we returned and celebrated his 90th birthday here. This restaurant serves the freshest, most delicious food I...have ever tasted. I would definitely recommend a reservation as it was very full the day we went. The service was excellent...the food just perfect and fresh. They served us little plates of the finest foods...one of them was a liver dish that was out of this world. The freshly grilled meat perfecto...the cheese outstanding. Fresh homemade pasta was cooked to perfection and as always the bread was great too! Thank you Lo Scamorzaro for an outstanding meal and experience!More

i had visited Lo Scamorzaro 7 years ago and was blown away...this past visit was a disappointment, maybe an off night? the staff looked tired, the service was poor, and orders mixed up, food average. I would give them another chance, but they need to...go back to the basics.More
