It was our last night in Ireland and my birthday weekend, so we treated ourselves to staying here and also trying the 8 course tasting menu at Dromoland Castle. I am so glad we did. We tried things we might never have ordered, and we loved every course. The food was paced so we weren't rushed at all. In fact... More

A fully functioning hotel in its own grounds, Dromoland Castle is a cut above the rest. It is easy to find just off M18 near Shannon airport in County Clare. Through the huge gates the driveway meanders along the immaculate 18 hole golf course. The club house is one storey with bar and restaurant and a gorgeous walled garden behind.... More

Meals here are very upscale. Food is terrific. The lamb chops were terrific tonight...breakfasts are wonderful. I had the French toast this morning and it was served with real maple syrup...terrific. Tomorrow morning I'm having the pancakes.

DROMOLAND castle was a vastly entertaing and stunning experience. The castle itself, is manageable, and loaded with history. Surrounded by a wonderful golf course, with a cheery eaterie, it provides all beverages and a nice selection of food, to be indulged after a game. The castle has a wonderful falconry, clay target shooting and horse back riding. My room was... More

We give this place 5 stars because we have not tasted a salad as delicious as the one we ate here. And we have eaten in fine restaurants. Not to mention the spa treatment....

We had been introduced to afternoon tea while visiting Scotland and decided to enjoy Dromoland Castle and booked an afternoon tea. Our delightful afternoon began by being ushered to a table with a view of the glorious, green gardens. Our wait staff gave us a choice of teas and brought out the two boxes of teas for us to pass... We dropped into the castle late on a Saturday afternoon, without a reservation. We were greeted so warmly and welcolmed into the lounge. Our server, Ryan, was so attentive, polite and professional- a truly lovely young man. He brought out a full silver service tea and what my husband described as "The best coffee in Ireland". We also ordered the... More

Had drinks in the bar. When table was ready, our server took our drinks to the restaurant. (Must do the Earl Of Thomond). A harpist was playing right by us! Anne & I split the Scallops apitizer, and it was delicious. Rack-of-lamb was excellent!! A friend had steak, it was average. Service was impeccable. For a 5-Star restaurant, it was... More

Lovely Tea at a Stunning Castle. Mrs. White's afternoon tea is a do not miss!!! Even if you are not staying at the castle I highly suggest making a reservation for afternoon tea in the tea room or gallery. Tea selection is wonderful and the tea sandwiches, pastries, and scones were wonderful.
