My wife and I recently visited The Oak Room and we were nothing short of impressed. The menu was varied and the food was truly memorable, however the service topped everything else. Friendly and attentive staff for whom nothing was too much trouble and always smiling. This is a relatively small bistro restaurant which could go unnoticed from the outside.... More

The evening commenced with a warm welcome to a busy restaurant. Layout and spacing of tables/guests was good. Service throughout was attentive, very effective, sincerely friendly and met every need of every guest. Food was beautiful. Every single dish was cooked perfectly, presented magnificently and came with wonderfully composed accompaniments. The fillet steak was simply exquisite and ended up being... More

There are few restaurants in Cavan. This bistro was recommended by hotel staff. A lovely comfortable restaurant upstairs off the main street in cavan. There is an early bird meno and I had the seafood tagliatelle. Delicious. Mum had duck cooked perfectly and husband had the special Turbot and prawns. Also hot and beautifully cooked. Really good service. There were... More
