Thought we would try this restaurant due to its early opening time as we have toddlers. We were put off from the outset due to the waitress replying when asking if they had a high chair for our 18month old available "yes as long as they do not scream". We have been very fortunate to travel and live all over... More

This was our second visit for my wife & I, the first for our disabled son. Access to the restaurant is flat & accessible through two doors, the first push & the second pull, unfortunately access to the garden is via two sets of French doors with a single step, which could easily be resolved with simple ramps (owners please... We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and we were bowled over by the quality of the food and the value. The early bird menu is stunning in quality and value. Lovely ambience and friendly professional staff. Set overlooking Lough Derg it is a truly great restaurant, as awards going back over 12 years will attest. One for foodies.

The set menu in the Cherry Tree was good value and there wad a good choice available provided you are not vegetarian. I had black pud to start which was itself preceded by a carrot soup .Both were excellent. The duck with lentils and a plum sauce was a bit heavy going but that was poor choice on my part... More

We booked lunch on a gorgeous sunny day and, having read a range of reviews, were looking forward to a special meal. All I can say is we were very relieved that this wasn't a special celebration or occasion... The restaurant is in a lovely setting with views of the river and our table was great. Some bread would have... More

Killaloe is well known for Brian Boru, water sports, medical excellence and a succession of seriously great international rugby players. Why therefore is the Cherry Tree not better known and supported ? It is totally unacceptable that such an extraordinary restaurant can open only Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at this time of year. I am seriously tired of reading... More

A lovely place for a special meal. As mentioned before, it is not the cheapest option around, but it is certainly not unreasonably expensive. The service was excellent - attentive without being over the top, or leaving your feeling rushed. The choice of food was great. I went with the steak (which was just a touch undercooked, but better that... More
