This bar was recommended by friends and we went on a rainy night on Ireland! So many friendly patrons both local and tourists who were all ready to engage. A fun night to end up after a miserable day of Irish weather.

This is a very special pub,it is a traditional Irish pub with a modern twist in that it offers a huge choice of gins and an even larger choice of blended whiskies. The owner is a warm friendly lady and the atmosphere is fantastic, I don't think there many pubs as special as this....I shouldn't have told you!

There's no television her in this pub and no food so people who come here just talk and that's great. There's a really wonderful atmosphere and ambience as soon as you walk in.

Visiting this fantastic gem of a pub in the beautiful village of Ballyvaughan in the centre of the unique Burren landscape, is a bucket list destination. The owners Peter and Margaret are the most hospitable hosts one can encounter on any given day. The choice of both Whiskeys and Gin for connoisseurs is truly world encompassing. The atmosphere is homely... More

Visited this bar recently while staying in Ballyvaughan. Great mix between locals, blow-in's and tourists. Great pint of Guinness and the whiskey's were superb. Margaret really looked after us. Don't miss it!

There are pubs. And there's O'Loclainns. As an Irishman, I'm always wary of "traditional" pubs. This jewel of a pub in Ballyvaghan (pronounced Ballva-han by the locals) deserves the title "authentic". Mrs O'Loclainn is the doyenne of Irish whiskies, and also one of the warmest and most helpful people you could wish to meet. I'm still smiling remembering our night... More

We spent two nights in Ballyvaughan and were recommended this pub. All I can say is it was such a positive and enjoyable experience. The pub is owned and run by a lady called Margaret. She is a quiet, soft-spoken lady but she is pivotal to the character and the ambiance of this pub. It is an old-fashioned pub with... More

We had a great time here. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and the wonderful decor of ths traditional pub made it an enchanting space to enjoy a drink. Allied to this was the music and storytelling enjoyed by all - a throwback to old ireland and the breauty of the oral tradition. What a lovely spot. Thanks to Margaret for her... More

Quintessential Irish Whiskey shop. The owner / operator Margaret made this a most memorable experience! She is knowledgable, friendly and wants to hear about you too! Would come back to Ireland to see Margaret and her lovely historical shop!

Real interesting Irish classy pub. Owner run which makes all the difference. Only opens at 8pm but worth the wait. On the evening we visited the very youthful yet able son of the owner was in charge and he made the time to chat to every patron- not the easiest thing to do at that age. One of the highlights...
