Just on the roadside passing through Kilcolgan is situated a beautiful traditional Irish bar and restaurant. Ordered a chicken curry and boiled rice main course for €13.95 and received a huge portion. I was mesmerised! Such friendly staff and provide a great service. A very happy bunch of customers yesterday to say the least. Barely able to walk out the... More

Travelling from Waterford to Westport this weekend, I needed something to eat so we stopped at the first place we saw, and I'm happy to say it was here! I was just expecting your usual pub grub, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the staff were even better. Would highly recommend

I got a table quick which was good , helped by the bar man, who was quick and efficient. My main problem was the food. I ordered the half duck... More

On passing through Kilcolgan this week, I observed a large sign at the side of the road stating that breakfasts, lunches and dinners were available at Rafterys. Now, in my book, breakfast is served in most places from at least 8.00 am or perhaps, worst case, from 8.30am. However, at 9.00am on a Saturday morning, this restaurant was still closed!... More
