Fabulous restaurant in Oranmore Co Galway. My friends got a voucher, so we booked without expectations- and weren’t we pleasantly surprised!! Definitely one of the best meals we have had in recent times.
We got a warm welcome from one of the owners- who explained the menu and gave great advice on wine choice- they have a great value neighbourhood menu- two courses for a little over 30 euro. We had mussels- in a lovely cream thyme sauce, a duck terrine and calamari- generous portions and all gorgeous.
Beef cheeks were the highlight of the main courses- we also had chicken and lamb balls- both lovely.
There were two fantastic musicians playing easy listening jazz. Special mention to Yellena who served us.
This restaurant is well worth the drive from Galway- or anywhere else!!!

Online menu is different to the one served. I got excited about duck breast but unfortunately I couldn't get it.
Staff is the biggest problem of the restaurant in my opinion. We were seated at the table with plates and cutlery suggesting we were going to get an appetizer, this never happened. They handed us the food menu only. After some time they asked what we wanted for drinks.... Beware! Large glass of wine - 250 ml can be 20 euro depending on what wine you like.
I feel a bit cheated by this. Not sure if it's the staff or the owners, but definitely not a good start.
Food.
My Tatar steak was 2 out of 10, but I come from a country where it's a delicacy.
The fish was cooked to perfection.
Potato gratin for 6.5 euro... Wasn't fresh. Forget my taste. It was GREY

Fantastic lunch of John Dory fish, chargrilled veg, baby potato, carrot puree and delicious sauce all gluten free and many other offerings on the menu to suit the gluten free customer. Dessert of sorbet and poached pear ... Devine .... also to note the provision of toasted gluten free bread which actually tasted good ... the service was excellent and just truly appreciative of the consideration of those with particular food requirements. I will 100% be returning.

We.went with high expectations and those in part were met. Service was lovely, the starters were good. I had chosen a ribeye steak for my main - my favourite steak, lovely texture combined with great flavour. It is a steak I am used to buying (and living in Cumbria we get great steak, locally produced, well hung and with great marbling) and cooking. What arrived was nothing like the steak I am used to - a very strange, dry and chewy texture, no meat juices, not pleasant to eat. Complained and was assured that the chef would be told. Plate was later taken away, largely uneaten. It still appeared on the bill. We paid the bill, but unfortunately that meant that we didn’t leave a tip, despite the fact that the service had been good. Two things surprised me: that the chef sent out such a poor steak and that, having sent it back largely uneaten, they still felt comfortable charging for it.

I recently dined at Armorica and had a lovely experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. However, while the quality was good, the A la carte prices were a bit higher than expected.
Overall, Armorica is perfect for a special occasion or a treat, with a great early bird option for those looking to enjoy a fantastic meal without the higher cost.

Lovely hot breakfast, had the full irish with poached eggs. Eggs were oerfw tly poached, sausagea were really tasty. They are reasonable priced but they need to update their website as the menus are priced more. Attentive waitresses and they cme back to top up pots of tea etc. Plenty of parking out the back too.

I’d forgotten how amazing the food was and now I can’t wait for my next meal. 😊 We hadn’t visited since before Covid so we were delighted to check into a beautiful family room, the only thing we actually remembered to take pictures off. We had scallops and soup to start, both amazing with lovely fresh bread. Our 6 year old daughter wanted steak and they kindly provided a half portion fillet steak for her, she was delighted. Our youngest daughter had hake, so fresh and delicious.
My husband and I had the Friendly Farmer Chicken and a Ribeye Steak, both delicious but I must say the Chicken was one of the best dishes I ever had, the flavours were simply devine. I was very much looking forward to dessert but we were so full but I plan to have lunch here tomorrow for their Sunday Jazz session so I will save space for the dessert. Huge compliments to the chef and staff, a true gem. Try it for yourself, you’ll want to go again.

What a Gem! We were invited by friends and didn't know the place but we'll invite them back here for sure. Everything was fantastic from the warm welcome to the quality of each dish. Antoine is a great waiter and had great knowledge of the dishes,he's also a perfect gentleman and we were lucky he was our server for meal. I loved my fish and my creme brulee. My Irish husband had to fight with the French Chef not to have his steak served too raw but he was delighted not to have been allowed to overcook it. Everything's perfect. Congratulations to the owners and team. Bravo Antoine again!!

Don't go. €36 for a fillet steak with added cost for sides. Steak char tasted like fish, as though it was cooked in the same pan. Peppercorn sauce was white (too much cream?) The flavours were non existent for the mackerel (starter), brie (starter) and the risotto (main). Risotto (€20+) was so bland we had to send it back. Waiting staff were lovely, but the food is not good.

Celebrating a wedding anniversary for in-laws all big food lovers and had hoped for a good experience but we all felt very let down with the evening.
Waitress was not at all familiar with the menu and had to disappear twice to kitchen when asked what an item was, one of our party wanted to order the Cod which was both on the specials board and the menu itself but was told they had ran out of cod however my wife had ordered the Monkfish which all seemed fine until 25 mins later the waitress returned AFTER our started to tell her that the Monkfish was gone BUT she could have COD instead! I mean you couldn't make it up really poor.
The starers varied in quality I had the scallops which were very over cooked, there was 7 adults in our party and mixed reviews from all. The main course I has was the rib eye special, it was nice, the Missing Cod dish my wife had was average and the cod portion given was tiny.
Generally disappointing evening all round for the money handed over, and not acknowledgement from staff on the fish issue on payment. Wouldn't be going back there anytime soon.

Popped in here by chance last Saturday night 25/1/20. We had no reservation but were greeted & seated by a lovely gentleman who appeared to be in charge.
It was 7pm on the nose & when we enquired about the early bird we were told it could be done.
My partner went for fish cake, this was one very ample fish cake with anchovy sauce .. It was a delicious dish.
I went for rilletts of duck served with pickle & sour dough bread , this was a superb dish.
My partner had roast chicken for main, chicken cooked crispy skin and succulent meat, it was on the bone which helped it to be succulent. Lovely dish.
I went for the hake, fish was cooked to perfection & served on a chorizo sauce all I can say is mouth watering. Both dishes by accompanied by fresh veg.
Apple crumble & black olive crem brûlée were had for dessert both very good. All washed down with a very good Pinot Grigio..
Total bill €82. Including wine @ €27.
Great value for what we had & service received. 1st visit & will return when in Oranmore again. .. Highly recommend.

We went with our 10 month old baby, who is allergic to dairy and yet she was accommodated the best we have experienced so far. Molly was super friendly and attentive, our food was freshly cooked yet arrived in a timely manner. Nothing to fault.

We ate here as a group of 6 in December and we all had such positive things to say about the experience.
The staff were so welcoming, and seated us in one of the rooms separated from the main bar area. There were a few other tables in the same room, but the atmosphere was still great.
The food was delicious and the presentation was wonderful. The waiting staff recommended wines to complement our mains and they were spot on.
As we had a late enough sitting, we happily stayed on for more cocktails.
Such a gem for Oranmore village!

A friend had called ahead and inquired about the accommodations for me. The food looked great and the price of the room was attractive, off-season priced. Fantastic dining experiences, once solo and once with friends. Duck rillettes superb, excellent quality bread before the meal, sole dish with a great presentation and and perfectly cooked variety of vegetables with it. Desserts of apple crumble and black olive crème brûlée did not disappoint.

We went here during our staycation in Galway and it was finger licking good. Professional friendly staff and had a good atmosphere. Small drawback was we waited a bit longer than normal in between services but they redeemed themselves by offering a discount and serving delicious food. If you are in Oranmore try this place.
