food was good, plenty of your fellow travelers to mingle with, ate there twice, dinner was very good, lunch served stale bread with my chowder not so good, music early night, pretty commercial tourist entertainment, not the trad experience you're looking for.

We visited here a couple of times recently but overall I found it to be a little average. The music is loud if you are sensitive to that ( I am not) and it certainly was engaging the tourists from other countries! I felt the...More

This was a hard rating to give. I have eaten here a couple of times and had decent pub-style food, but the real reason to come here is for the music. Garry O'Meara, who is extemely talented on the banjo (he also plays guitar and...More

We arrived when the early music session was still on and had a very good meal and stayed right through to the end of the late session. Music top class - David Howley Garry O'Meara and Mick McNamara - and a few lovely dancers. Great...More

This is an atmospheric pub in one of the main streets of Clifden. Caught some great Irish music featuring Fergal Scahill. What talent these guys have. Sensational!

We had dinner in this pub and were extremely disappointed. The food was bland and overpriced. The servers were rude and every time we asked a question they told to "just wait a second". I would not recommend wasting your time or money here!

We were very disappointed. I had a glass of wine (prices weren't advertised like the beer was) and was shocked to see it was €6.50! This is a below average pub.

What can I say? It was perfect! The food was excellent, Guiness as always and we had a blast listening to Fergal Cashill & Mick McNamara & David Howley
