Stopped in for dinner on way back from Charles Fort. Restaraunt had just opened for the day so was quiet and little atmosphere but nice room and food and staff very good. Had 2 drinks in the bar before hand and the bar is really cool. Old style bar and a great place to spend the afternoon drinking a few... More

We stopped on our walk out to Charles Fort. My wife ordered Black Pudding with Carmelized Apples and Tomato Chutney. I had the Breaded Muscles. We were both very pleased. Would return and order the same things, although perhaps switch plates.

Having passed this pub/restaurant on a walk earlier in the week, we decided to make the short walk up the hill from Kinsale town centre and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home in the eclectically decorated bar area. Even though we were the only customers at first, we weren't worried by... More

The Spaniard is located just up from Man Fridays restaurant. This is a narrow cosy bar serving food and drinks.Diddly eye music at the weekends.Top tip for sun lovers: Go around to the side of the bar. There are woded benches and tables against the Gable wall. This is the best sun trap in Kinsale bar none.Sit and have a drink ,get an... Visited the place today after hearing such good reports but was sorely disappointed. Perhaps they were having an off day or under pressure as two big parties in at the same time but nevertheless standards shouldn't drop . Out of 4 meals only one of us could say that theirs was lovely without any faults and that was the Cajun... More

Looking for a pint, reasonably priced food and a pub atmosphere then the short walk up the hill from Kinsale town will reward you. The menu selection is quite extensive, the service friendly and quick and the atmosphere can be selected between the bar, the cafe and the restaurant

We ate at the Spaniard after having a not so pleasant meal elsewhere, and my first spoonful of the seafood chowder made me a fanboy. We went back at least three time to have it!

We were here on a lovely sunny afternoon and enjoyed great food and a friendly atmosphere. It is a terrific spot to sit and enjoy the passing parade with friends.

Ate here two days ago and the food was fresh, hot and beautiful. My husband had the burger (he gave me his onion rings which were fab!) and I got a toastie and chips - which was not on the menu but they had no problem having one made for me. Service was fast and I noticed some people rang... More

The Spaniard is a real old style Irish pub. Nice friendly welcome and quick service. The prices are in line with other Kinsale pubs/restaurants but the food is maybe the best. Fresh and tasty and with a home cooked style about it. Not a huge lunch menu but enough there to satisfy most people and they are flexible if you... More
