Nothing spectacular about the food here except for the price. We tried the cobra indian restaurant the night after and were well impressed.

Went to Finns for the first time the other week - twice actually! In a town with good competition Finns stood out for having a slightly different menu ie steak & kidney pie STARTER!! On the first visit, we had the S&K and scallops starter....Both were excellent. We then had 2 x ‘surf & turf’. The scampi was a good as I have had anywhere. However, the two fillet steaks , while nice (with some additional seasoning) were not cooked as requested. Still very enjoyable & edible. All washed down with an excellent valpolicealla Ripasso (this was better than many more expensive Amarone). Followed by 2 x baked Alaska, coffees etc etc. The seating & general Covid protocols were all fully followed and were as unobtrusive as possible. The service was friendly & first class- to the point that one of the surf & turfs was removed from the bill - in spite of our protestations. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating- in spite of the numerous other restaurants in the town (most known to us) & plans to go somewhere else the following night - we went back to Finns!! Although not on the menu I asked for the scampi as a starter & 2x steak & kidney for main plus the Ripasso. Our choices ran out @ c. €120 a head (inc 2x bottles of wine). Expensive for sure - but a nice variation from the normal, excellent food and good service adds up to value in my book. On my next visit to Kinsale I am likely to head to Finns!! It is clearly advisable to book for Finns unless you want to dine early or late.More

Went here for a meal for 2 and had all 3 courses. Both starters were lovely. Both main courses were very disappointing - small portions and not cooked to order in one case not cooked correctly and came back burnt and inedible. The deserts were...very nice. Some staff were helpful and pleasant and others dismissive. Overall a disappointing meal which we were looking forward to for some weeks as staying in Kinsale. Would not go back its overrated.More

Recently I had dinner here & I will be back asap. Staff are very friendly & helpful. COVID regulations are well managed. I had the steak & kidney pie to start, unctuous, would happily have had a larger portion as main course. The fish for...main course was beautifully cooked & presented. Keep up the good workMore

My wife and I went here on Tuesday 15.09.20, though the name has changed a little bit to Finn's Fine Cuts. They, do a good selection of meat and fish options, with the meat coming from the proprietor's family farm...ohh and they have an extensive...wine list. The restaurant is run by a wife/husband team, so its all in the family so to speak. It was all couples the evening we were there, which made for a lovely evening together us, which was a pleasant surprise. We had an 8:00pm booking so weren't being rushed off the table for the next sitting and evening got a few minutes more that the 105 suggested under the guidelines. How one is supposed to eat a three course dinner with wine in 1hr 45min is behind me, but then so are the decisions made by most politicians. There was a variety of meat/fish options, with subtle twists e.g. tandoori monkfish, don't remember the vegetarian options but they were there. The cheese board is highly recommended with the Tawny Port.More

First time in Kinsale, and so first time in Finns. I know good food takes time, but an hour and a half to serve one course, seems a tad slow. And thirty minutes to serve the first glass of wine, seems like a wasted opportunity!...That said, the fillet steak and the Barnsley chop were superb.More

Finns’ Farmyard (previously Finns’ Table) is a gem of a restaurant in Kinsale. Cosy decor, friendly service and excellent food make this a must-visit. The steaks were excellent - surpassed only by the deserts.

We first discovered this dynamic duo John & Julie several years ago when they had a restaurant in Timoleague. We were delighted to discover on our arrival in Kinsale that they now had a fantastic new restaurant there called Finn's table. We dined there last...week and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Julie and her staff. Excellent food and wine menu to choose from. We opted for oysters to start and then steaks that were cooked in the new 'Bertha' charcaol oven - they were top quality and one of the nicest steaks we have ever tried. Dessert was a chocolate bombe with hot caramel sauce poured over - literaly to die for. All in all we would give this restaurant 10/10 and hope to visit again soon.More

Food was very good the young staff were very nice. However the ÁC made the place very cold we did mention same but we were told it was necessary, we sat with our coats on. The owner left a lot to be desired she dropped...our bill on the table before we received our coffee no apology etc. Before we ordered our deserts and coffees we enquired about the time limit and we were assured all was good. I then witnessed the owner take a nice waitress to task- so unprofessional. Will not be back because of the owner's behaviour.More

Julie did mention closures of the restaurant - perhaps in Nov but I don't know for how long. You should go to the website and check it out or give them a call. Kinsale would be a pure joy during the Holiday season ! The... More
