Great for dinner in a relaxing atmosphere. My daughter and I had dinner on the Monday bank holiday when most of the restaurants were closed. We were fortunate that they were able to accommodate us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely...and well presented. There was great live music and we had a really enjoyable evening.More

We are two couples that like to eat good food and be served! Our server, Maria, was great! She was helpful, polite and such a good sense of humor! She was the best! Our food, the lamb dish, the Irish roast and the halibut were...all very good and nice portions! The atmosphere on a Sunday night was festive with live music and lots of people having a great time! It was a good start to our visit in this beautiful area.More

If there were a rating for mediocre — say between poor and average — Blue Haven would get it. The food was so-so, the service was slow (although the staff was very nice), and the atmosphere was OK. It was kind of crowded; I think...the place benefitted from being one of the few restaurants in Kinsale that is open on Monday nights.More

Had a meal here during the Jazz Festival . Our server was a lovely person, but that's where it ended. The food was over priced and the quality was disgraceful. We had a mix of food which goes as follows 1) Goats cheese salad, no...idea what the cheese was but definitely not gats cheese- tasteless 2) Pate - served in bowl with 2 slices of bread no side dressings, seemed like it was out of the freezer and tasteless 3) Humas- tasteless 4) Fish & chips (or should I say 2 tiny fish goujons ) again tasteless 5 ) Rissotto (the special for the day) again tasteless best description is rice cooked in fish stock cube with a few prawns on top 6) Finally sirloin steak with cold potatoes and veg. I could chew my leather shoes easier. Oh and might I say... Tasteless. Was so disappointed as this restaurant is a member of the Kinsale Good Food Circle, had we gone to this members restaurant first we most definitely would have avoided the rest of its members. This restaurant uses cheap ingredients for extortionate prices We did complain and were offered a drink but as we were leaving then we declined, manager said she would talk to the chef.More

Visited the on two separate occasions once sitting at the bar the second time we managed to get a comfortable seat to enjoy drinks. Bar area is spacious and well laid out, drinks menu is extensive and the barman is so friendly and chatty.

I visited the bar on a Monday, we ordered the Fish Tacos and Fish & Chips, as you can see from the pictures below that my picture differs from the picture posted on Instagram, the fish was tasteless, the tortillas were hard and not fresh,...the baja sauce had been stored in the fridge for several days, the fish and chips were also of an average quality this was most disappointing that the quality of the presentation and more importantly the food were well below expectations especially as the bill was €44 including soft drinks, this was very disappointing, after I sent a message on Instagram detailing my experience in which I got a response that I would be issued with a voucher to rectify my bad experience, two months later and a second message still no reply or voucher, if I received the voucher I wouldn’t return as the food was so bad but don’t reply with a message stating a voucher will be issued when it’s not the case, Imo it’s a Instagram v reality in my pictures below and would not recommend eating here when there’s so many other very tasty restaurants in KinsaleMore

We had lamb tanging and seafood curry. Both were delicious and memorable. My only complaint is that they don't have a good selection of wines by the glass. I'd have given 5 stars if there had been a nice NZ pinot noir.

My 2 sister's and I, had the most wonderful 'Casual fine dining' experience in The Blue Haven restaurant in Kinsale. Our hostess, Charly, made us feel so special, and her charm along with the ambience of the restaurant and the good quality of the food,...made it a wonderful evening to remember. Food allergies, provided a little challenge to Meeran, the head Chef, which he enjoyed retweaking the menu to suit.He came out to meet us afterwards, and told us he had recently received the Gold Medal for his culinary skills. The food was fresh and tasty, the service was just top class. We would highly recommend The Blue Haven Restaurant, and for the food and top class service that we had, the price was very reasonable.More

Brought my family there to eat today, food was fine but the portion size was pathetic. Literally 6 bites and my meal was gone. Left the place starving and fuming. My kids had bigger meals.

We were a family of 8 staying in Kinsale for a week. We had come back from a full day of sightseeing hungry and thirsty and no one was interested in cooking. We stopped at Blue Haven to see if they had any openings for...dinner. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us in a small dining room that was perfect for us. There is a good selection of food to choose from. I had the fish tacos which I really enjoyed. Others tried the oysters and fish and chips. My husband and son-in-law decided to try the flight of Red Breast Whiskey. Which they enjoyed.More

The staff could not have been nicer at this place! Very friendly atmosphere with good food and a wonderful bar.

My family had breakfast in the Blue haven recently and food as always fantastic. We had omelette and full irish which came with artisan toast and preserves...very nice. Great coffees and the staff and managers always so welcoming and nothing is too much for them....Sunday breakfast for us is always in Blue Haven.More
