How is it possible we have lived in Kinsale for years and just discovered the vegan jackfruit tacos at the Blue Haven? They are, without a doubt, the best jackfruit tacos we have ever had. You get lots of sauces with them and a large...order of fries. This is the biggest meal we have had at any restaurant in Kinsale. Well worth the price. Service was also really really good. Thank you Paulina!More

Lovely food and cocktails! My dessert (fritters) was a bit questionable looking when it came out to the table but tasted nice. Would definitely be back.

Nice Hotel ..... I sat outside the front of the Hotel in a lovely area ....The food was limited on the menu in July this year but much better on my return this time in September ... I would give the food maybe 5 out...of 10 .... Staff lovely and friendly but a little slow to take orders and deliver ordersMore

I have been here 3 times in the last few weeks and each time I visited I was highly impressed by the professional service and food. The waiting staff are very conscientious and attentive. I have a specialised diet being both vegan and gluten intolerant,...there was so much choice for me with a lot of thought put into the quality and taste of the food. Very comfortable seating and lovely ambience. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.More

Very Disappointing!!!! We arrived 7pm and ordered promptly Our starters were first class the prawns were very tasty. Our main course did not come until 8,45 a full hour and a half after our starters.I ordered a 10oz rib eye steak to be cooked medium.What...it got was a burnt 6oz steak at best! Chips and onion rings were on the cold side also.Very over priced and on this visit could not recommend this restaurantMore

on Sunday the 8th of August we joined the queue around 7 pm with my 7 yr old and obviously pregnant wife outside there were empty tables under the cover not being used, staff walked up and down but nobody engaged with the people waiting...in the queue ,eventually after around 30 minutes a very pleasant waitress approached us and the couple in front of us and said we should go for a walk for half an hour and come back as they were expecting tables to free up shortly , we came back before 8 and waited in the queue again around 8.20 the waitress came out and told us and the couple in front of us they had just decided to close the kitchen and we would not get a table even though she had told us to come back all she could say was sorry and told us to try Lamonts which is part of the same group ,the guy at Lamonts apologized but said Blue H know they were only taking booked people so we left close to 9 with few options,it seemed crazy after the year of lockdown and the no of times they featured in media saying how difficult a year it had been they would turn away so much business,I would say a lot of other restaurants weren't even open at all, so for the culinary centre of Cork it wasnt really a great experience you would almost need to bring sandwiches if you are visiting Kinsale, fortunately we rang Actons our hotel and explained our situation they said if we could get back as quick as we could they would keep the kitchen open we got back at 9.20 and Actons Restaurant did give us a very nice meal and excellent friendly service , there were a several people in Actons complaining of the same experience as us and couldn't understand why so late in the season when they had an opportunity to make up some lost business the restaurants didn't seem interestedMore

We visited here for dinner during a stay near Kinsale. The Good. 1. The location in the centre of town is very central and busy. We were fortunate to get a late booking and would need reservations. The restaurant is in several rooms and we...were in the bar type location and suited outside in a courtyard. The area was very sheltered 2. The service was very friendly and cheerful. Staff were prompt and helpful. 3. The food was all good with tasty chicken wings and a nice hake dish with prawns. The menu is pretty standard bar food. The Bad. Not much. Overall A good choice for an evening meal in a handy location.More

This is a very crowded restaurant, a very popular one. Getting a table without reservation was not easy for us. Location is good, atmosphere is nice and table service is very friendly. Food was very good.

Dined here on many occasions pre-covid and was always very pleased. However on returning recently , was very disappointed by standard of food and service. Food lacked taste, some dishes cold, stodgy and generally of a very average standard. Staff were pleasant but overly familiar....Little evidence of communication between them which resulted in confusion at table. Would really have expected more from what used to be a great place to eat.More

Hands down , blue haven is the leader in Kinsale, in terms of food and always bouncing up the notch , every time we visit. the consistency of the food quality in the restaurant for a big place like this is just unbelievable and talk...about the options and variety, its a blessing to have such passionate food serving places still open. 10 stars .More
