We had a fantastic meal here. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was really gorgeous. Enough variety for all the family to have a meal of their choice. I had the duck breast which was delicious and I was delighted to be offered a...side of additional veg. My husband had the monkfish and he savoured every bite - he thoroughly enjoyed it. The children had fish/ burger and chips. Portions were generous. Desserts were delicious also. Thank you!More

We’ve eaten here as a family for 20+ years now and not once have we been disappointed. Despite some of the more recent reviews, this family run restaurant offers quality food time and time again. The family are always friendly when we dine there and...the service and attention is always fuss free and more than satisfactory. The menu is varied and always features the old favourites (deep fried mushrooms and seafood au gratin). Couldn’t fault this long standing establishment and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone.More

We arrived late into Kinsale one evening in mid-October and walked about town searching for a place to have dinner and we found this location. They were able to seat us fairly quickly. While we were happy to be accommodated, the food was just "okay"....I had the lasagne. And my husband ordered a hamburger. It was not horrible by any stretch! But nothing was particularly memorable about it either. The problem here was our waitress. A young lady who worked almost to the point of exhaustion trying to look busy! Lots of looking back and forth and running past our table. But not really do a whole lot, other than "looking busy". Perhaps she was new. That's all fine. Except that she kept ignoring our table. Repeatedly! As soon as eye contact could be made, she quickly darted her gaze away. This went on for about 20 minutes after we were finished. Eventually, we had to shout to get her attention as she got close enough. Not our favorite approach! But after we paid our bill and were able to leave, we both agreed that it was not a positive experience at all. And with the food being just mediocre, we would not be returning should we return to Kinsale again.More

Extremely friendly service on a crowded night. Delicious steak sandwich and soup. I would recommend and would return here. Pub had on the rugby match!

The fish and chips was gorgeous. Lovely fresh haddock, batter spot on and the tartar sauce so tasty. My wife had the burger which she also enjoyed.

What a pity that such a renowned place has hit Rock bottom. Staff with badly soiled clothing, Soup served in bowls that were not that well washed from previous times . Food itself was basic and ok it’s just discomfiting that the squalor in the...surrounding makes one uneasy. The Blue water glasses were filthy. Not that busy maybe is a reflection on foot fall. Chowder was a pure with chunks of fish , Fish Gratin main meal was of similar vein with soft mashed potato and cheese topping. Salad was Rough and Crisply fresh . Wheaten bread was Fresh. This day and age things should be sharper . As a visitor to Kinsale over the years it’s so Disheartening to see the change to standards.More

Unfortunately a terrible experience. Cold food, cold staff, and dirty pint glasses. The duck was colder than room temperature. The potatoes were over-microwaved

Not a bad place to eat. Good selection on menu. Service quick and staff pleasant. Food was good. We had the chicken which came with potatoes and veg, although we did have to ask the waitress to bring our side order several minutes later. Average...price. Overall its good.More

The food here is and always has been absolutely delicious. I simply cannot find fault. The staff were very helpful. I love the decor, not modern and stark thank goodness.

The service was great along with the food. However the draft beer wasn’t the best which was the only fault that could be given. Great food.

Unfriendly. Slow service? Was it our accents? A quiet drink in a typical Irish pub was what we wanted. If this is typical hospitality of the area, we’ll go teetotal and leave.
