3pm. Sat outside. Sun shining. Got the prawn scampi as a nibbler. Gorgeous. Partner had chicken wings. Very good. Fish menu and specials looked really interesting. Service was excellent. All covid protocols incorporated without intruding. Recommended.
I stood for quite a while before even being acknowledged by waite staff. No eye contact, one word answers and I also observed a waitress being very rude to an elderly customer who was eating alone. I left in a hurry. There was one option...on the menu that was perhaps okay for a vegan. I didn't feel even if the waite staff had been attentive that my visit would have been enjoyable. Nothing on the menu is clearly defined for people with allergies or dietary differences.More
We went with our children (young adults)t to mark our wedding anniversary. Food was ok - no complaints at all in that regard.
While waiting we just asked for water and glasses. 4 glasses brought out that were still wet. As 2 of the facility...started drinking they noticed that there was still lipstick on their glasses.
Now in a Covid era this is really both disappointing and serious. We said it to the waitress, they were replaced with a 'sorry'..... Sorry but 'sorry; does not cut it now with trying to get back into an environment of dining out. Honestly it put me right off.
Service was slow near the end and after waiting about 25mins for tea and 2 coffees, two of us just cancelled the coffees. Normally not a big deal but was annoyed over the other incident so this just fueled it.More
had a table booked for outside which is lovely as you can watch all the people passing by, we were hoping for a lunch menu but as it was 4pm it was the dinner menu so couldn't get sandwiches as we were booked in for...dinner at 8 in our hotel so we ordered starters which were really lovely .More
We recently visited Jim Edwards after a few recommendations of friends. We sat in the restaurant area and it was dark and uninviting. The floor was very slippy, be careful. Staff were unfriendly in general. Just no atmosphere at all. Food was ok! I wouldn’t...return.More
Just had some mussels which were about ok. Asked for a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Not sure what I got but it wasn’t NZ. Asked for wine menu next time and got a glass of Hunky Dory which was grand. Waitresses not the...friendliest but I suppose strange times...More

I was really impressed with the food in Jim Edwards. There's a great selection of seafood and general Gastropub options on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and everything was very safe with staff in visors and tables well spaced out. They have a good...few outdoor tables which would be lovely on a sunny day.More
