Location and the views are this hotel's best selling point. Check in was pleasant and staff was very nice. I room was not ready, which we did not expect it to be since we arrived early. But they texted us when it was ready. Room...was a little dated and a little small. But that was expected given the age. The included breakfast was very nice and service staff very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I would have given it five stars except for the size and need for the rooms to be a bit modernized.More

Drinks most days in the Wharf Tavern, breakfast upstairs in the dining room with views out to sea and of course the Trident was part of the Mad Hatter's 2022 event, the staff here go up and beyond to make your visit perfect.

We visited the Trident for food twice during our visit to Kinsale The food is delicious and reasonably priced, the seals in the harbour were an amazing bonus but the service was the standout part of our visits. The staff are absolutely amazing - all...of them! Special shout out to Karen who really goes the extra mile and honestly should start a business training A* customer serviceMore

There was no AC in the room even though the website claims there is AC. Very warm. Lightbulbs were out. Requested help at the front desk for dinner reservations and for some reason they did not help us. Just pointed us to the street where...the restaurants were. Also, not enough outlets for what we needed. ie fan, hair dryer. Convenient location with parking.More

We stayed in the Trident Hotel recently for a class reunion of school friends. From the early stages of planning, the hotel staff were superb with advice - friendly and profesional. Eleanor and Erin could not have been more helpful. As the event drew closer,...the Conference and Banqueting team - Trish, Lorraine and Norma - guided us through all the choices. The Trident has recently had a refurbishment with modern furniture and great artwork! The bed-rooms are lovely with views of the harbour and comfortable beds. So now the event has happened and is in the past. We had a delightful evening in Pier 1 Restaurant and a hearty breakfast the next morning. The final "splash" of our Reunion was an early morning sea-swim across at Castlepark! A truly happy experience and I hope that I will be back soon!More

Good 4 star hotel with excellent friendly staff. They offer a competitive corporate rate. Breakfast is well managed and the fare is tasty and filling. Rooms are good with all mod cons and a view of the river. Parking on site can be a bit...tight. Will use again for work or even a mid week break!More

We booked this hotel for a short break in Kinsale and we were not disappointed. Overall an excellent hotel in a great location. Rooms larger than normal with a superb view across the harbour. Very good breakfasts and great service. We were impressed with the...large number of very friendly and efficient staff. Very much better than many of the other hotels we have stayed in. We had a very enjoyable stay and will have no hesitation in using this hotel again.More

Stayed overnight in Kinsale at the Trident. Staff friendly, rooms clean. Very close to the centre of Kinsale. But no teabags for the teamaker. The other room had teabags but no milk. And Nespresso pads for a Nespresso machine that could not be found. Breakfast...was good.More

Didn't have want we wanted for dinner, perfectly acceptable if they told us as they seated us and handed us menus, but when we order 2 things and both are unavailable(from a main menu of about 9 things, it just really isn't acceptable. The food...we did then order was inedible. Also if you want a condiment in this restaurant then bring a scissors because they are not possible to open until it ends up on the walls when they burst at least! The two older staff are amazing! The 8 kids may as well not be there!More

This was my first visit to the Trident Hotel and it wasn't my first choice but I was so lucky to not find accommodation available in my desired hotel. I am definitely delighted that I gave the Trident Hotel my booking and was so surprised...how excellent it was. The staff were very friendly and professional - nothing like the Irish Covid norm I have experienced elsewhere. The usual excuse for the miserable service is "we can't get the staff" but the Trident staff were all at a much higher level than other hotels. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the room (118) was fabulous. It was a great pleasure to stay there and hope to go back one day soon. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel restaurant food was excellent for both quality and value for money. The bed (most important) was very comfortable and I was so sad to leave!More

Booked this hotel in Jan a junior suite for 2 nights back in jan for May. Was contacted as per covid and rebooked for July. A couple of weeks before our arrival I needed to change my dates only to be told by Peter I...had to have an executive room with sea view even though one of my nights was one of my junior suite. On the saturday I rang the hotel to say we were only up the road in the Kinsale Hotel & Spa. I said no you cant guarantee early check but would you makea note. I rang sun around 10.00 am to see what the story was only to get Tracey a very ignorant lady. When we arrived at 12.00 was told in no uncertain way 1and a half wait. So we went down the town. Asked Peter a simple question and said I don't no what you talkin about with head down Next morning door was knocked on at 9.15 to see did we want our room serviced. I was still in my p.js and was waitin to go down to breakfast which was a plate of grease. Next mornin we decided breakfast in room .it arrived 1 tea 1 coffee 1 slice of toast. Young lad had to run for more toast Buttered 1 slice with teaspoon, realised there was no knife no milk or sugar. Bar food and staff excellent When I was leavin I said to the girl on the desk this place was bad 15 years ago just as bad still. She didnt seem to care. More like faulty towers ro me.More

We picked here because it is close to the water with views of the harbour. We reserved ahead of time because of Covid. I am so disappointed with our experience and wish we’d picked somewhere, ANYWHERE, else. I got the steak sandwich which was meant...to come with bearnaise sauce. It didn’t. I wasn’t asked how I’d like it done. It came cremated, but cold. My girlfriend got the duck special. She asked for fries instead of veg. Both fries and veg came, we were charged for both. The veg had been sitting out for hours I’d say. We should have known what was to come once we’d arrived. Initially, 3 or 4 staff members passed us as we waited at the door and never acknowledged us. Kinsale is renowned for its hospitality and dining experiences. Not here! We asked to sit outside, by the water, but there were no tables available. We asked the waiter if he’d let us know when a table became available so we could relocate. He said that was no problem, he’d make a note of it and discuss it with the other staff. As the food landed on our table, I looked over and about half the tables by the water were empty. Thanks for nothing, I guess. We weren’t asked if we wanted dessert or coffee or even if everything was OK with the meal. We just paid the bill and got the hell out of there. Don’t make the same mistake we did!More

Definitely make a booking in advance of arrival it’s a busy place. Food was absolutely gorgeous...Fish Pie, Scampi all get a thumbs up kids had Award wining sausages , chicken goujons and chips. We even treated ourselves to desserts, blackberry and apple crumble was gorgeous, ice cream jelly and pancakes in chocolate sauce with ice cream was a big hit with our son.
