We have eaten here each time we visit Mayo and it has been consistently good over the years. Great food, particularly their speciality, Knox Gore pie and vegetable stacks. Really well chosen wine list, we had Forrest Pinot Noir 2013 which was really good. Although busy the service was excellent. A memorable meal to celebrate our daughter's birthday.

The staff were fantastic. Really attentive and looked after us like real people not just automatons. They talked to us about the menu and the chef is obviously just exceptional. I had a delicious celery and crab apple soup and my companion had absolutely delicious crab. And the puddings were fabulous. This is a real gem. Go and try it... More

We came down for a romantic getaway and I must say this is one of the most unique places we've been. It's a lovely, intimate location with all the original features of this old house. It has stayed very loyal to the time it was built. The food, wine and service was excellent. Ciarán in the bar couldn't do enough... More

I limited myself to main course and dessert - and was pushed to finish my meal - rare breed pork in a fantastic sauce, preceded by an amuse bouche of citrus cured salmon, followed by a trifle. ...himself had the " drunken bullock " - a huge fillet steak flamed in whiskey at the table - great fun, great food.... Huge open fires filled with peat found at night, four poster beds, a bar made from a Spanish galleon, and steaks served on swords, what more do you need?

Although the meal was very good, it wasn't exceptional and was a bit pricey. But the atmosphere more than made up for it. The bean ragout was a great choice for vegetarians and one friend had the Drunken Bullock which appeared held on a skewer by the server, doused with a whiskey (we presume) and set aflame. The presentation was... More

The bar area was rustic and had an enchanting, dim atmosphere. We were served our drinks there and our order was taken before we entered the dining area. The restaurant is said to have the best food in two counties, and did not disappoint!

Stumbled across this amazing hotel on a recent visit to Mayo. We had the taster menu and both agreed it was the best meal ever. The chef and his team obviously take pride in the food they present and the dining room staff are clearly respectful of that. Maya, the owner/manager is a warm and welcoming hostess, who makes you... First night I had the fish and I was surprised that it blended well with the risotto which I normally would not order. And the starters (piglet pie and guinea fowl tart) were simply sublime. But I was not impressed with the hot pot and the desserts on both nights. The hot pot consisted more of carrots than meat. As... More

Belleek Castle is set in the heart of Belleek Woods. It is a cosy romantic hotel with plenty of character and award-winning restaurant. Afternoon tea is available daily from 12pm until 5pm. Tours also take place each day of the dungeons where you will get to see and hold Irelands largest private collection of armour and we also boast a collection of fossils - plus a few extra surprises! The Armada bar has been constructed from a spanish armada ship which makes it boast plenty of character and is admired by all who visit the castle. Our restaurant is cosy and romantic with an old world feel. We are proud to serve gourmet dishes without the gourmet price! Our head chef Stephen uses only the freshest local ingredients available to create masterpieces in the kichen. The castle is also an ideal wedding venue with several weddings held here every year since 1971. We strive to ensure that everyone has the most perfect day possible and where better to celebrate such an occasion than in a romantic castle.Belleek Castle is a home away from home and is well worth a visit - we hope to be welcoming you here soon!
