We shared a lovely meal with good friends who are locals and friends of owner, Dennis. Our meals were exquisite and the service was superb... relaxing ambiance in a traditional setting. Although we're in this area several times every year for extended periods of time (and have our favorite restaurants in Dingle), we'd not yet tried The Half Door. We'll... More

What a quaint little restaurant . Decor lovey, gleaming copper pots and loads of antiquities. The restaurant is fine dining but casual dress is perfectly acceptable. Staff very pleasant and attentive. We had an exceptional meal. I had fresh crab gratin, delicious. My husband had spiced fish cake which he has talked about since. We then had the duck and... More

Fabulous food and great service- Cod for starters - Scallops with Lemon Sole for main course and Pear and Apple Crumble for dessert. Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere - would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Friendly service, and the best lamb shank I've ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. We'll be back.

We were recommended to eat at this restaurant by our B&B (PAX Guest House), and we were glad they did. Excellent seafood, as would be expected in Dingle - a fishing town. The seafood chowder was the best I had ever eaten, and I ate chowder nine times in nine different locations during our two-week trip to Ireland. Yes, the... More

It's fine dining, but come as you are! We dined at the Half Door at the recommendation of our B&B host at The Shores (thanks, Annette!) and were not disappointed after a day touring and seeing the Dingle Peninsula in the rain. White linens and first class service were in order for an evening of great food. There are daily... More

Book early or miss out. Food portions are gigantic take caution when ordering the 3 course special priced options. Happy surprise, their house white chardonney is from Napa Valley, California and excellent. The seafood chowder is to die for and is a meal in itself. Fabulous host/owner with wife managing the kitchen staff. Very international vibe with superb food. Our... More

We recently had dinner at the Half Door. The seafood was fresh and delicious and the service was wonderful. We will definitely return on our next visit to Dingle!

I always return here whenever I get back to Dingle aS the quality of food and service is hard to match. I started with the smoked salmon plate and it literally was a plate of smoked salmon wonderfully garnished and with beautiful avocado but the salmon itself was the star. Beautifully smoked and so fresh. My parents loved he fish... More

We booked a table for 6.30pm and we took advantage of the early bird menu. It stated a price for three courses but I had two courses. Large portions and excellent food. Fish in particular was very good. Great flavours . Would go again
