We went here for a meal about 7 in the evening and it was very quiet. Dingle was quiet in fact as quite a few places were closed. However the food here was really good with a choice of good local produce. Really enjoyed it.

Arrived to Dingle late on a Tuesday afternoon after the drive from Dublin. I was looking to relax and enjoy good food from the sea as I am in Dingle! Half Door restaurant was a great stop, the Crab Au Gratin was superb and the wine list was good as well. The Half Door is a very nice restaurant with... More

We were in Dingle for one night and a local referred us to the Half Door. We were told if we got there before 7:00 we could order off the "Happy Hour" menu which was much more affordable. We started with a lobster bisque that was out of this world! Next my friend ordered the salmon which was incredible and... More

The Half Door is truly a jewel in the crown in the delightful town of Dingle This restaurant had been recommended to me by a friend and it lived up to all my expectations. The food was tasty and well presented. The seafood platter was out of this world. I was in the company of four and everyone agreed that... More

There is no doubt that the food was good quality but I feel it was overpriced. In addition, the wine is very expensive and we had no option to taste one or two before committing to buying a bottle, something I believe high class restaurants should allow if you're paying an average of 40 Euro per bottle. When the wine... More

Food was, as expected very good. But for the prices you pay there, you also expect a good service. Maybe we were too early, but service was really sloppy. Had to skip dessert, because wait too long. Will avoid next time.

Dinner at The Half Door was delicious, although the service was slow at times. Good vegetarian options are available.

We decided to try one of the better restaurants our second night in Dingle and made a reservation at the Half Door. This did not stop me from getting some Fish and Chips. Our server said this was prepared with three different kinds of fresh fish from the Dingle Bay. It was served with fries and mashed peas. Sounded great... More

We shared a lovely meal with good friends who are locals and friends of owner, Dennis. Our meals were exquisite and the service was superb... relaxing ambiance in a traditional setting. Although we're in this area several times every year for extended periods of time (and have our favorite restaurants in Dingle), we'd not yet tried The Half Door. We'll... More

What a quaint little restaurant . Decor lovey, gleaming copper pots and loads of antiquities. The restaurant is fine dining but casual dress is perfectly acceptable. Staff very pleasant and attentive. We had an exceptional meal. I had fresh crab gratin, delicious. My husband had spiced fish cake which he has talked about since. We then had the duck and... More
