Went here for lunch with my family yesterday. The food was nice so we decided to book for dinner that night for myself and my husband. It is a very nice restaurant but unfortunately there is no atmosphere in the restaurant at night time. We were seated by a young blonde girl who looked after us earlier that day. I... More

A beautiful location with unbeatable views of the Kenmare Bay Marine Park's beautiful Dunkerron Islands and the majestic hills of Beara beyond. Superb seafood chowder and a melt in your mouth beer battered Cod, Gin menu which will lead to sin and a wine list which leads one to extend an evening repast to an extended time of reflection on... The boathouse has a stunning location right on the shore. Lots of parking and acres for kids to run around on. The fish dishes are exceptional but the deserts could be better. Overall well worth a visit and ideal for families.

I went for meal with a group of friends and family having checked out if this restaurant is wheel chair friendly. I chose it for this reason and for the setting. Although it claims to be wheelchair friendly, it is definitely not. Outside the surface is loose gravel, there is a step into the restaurant and there is no disabled... More

Lovely place great food. Services not so great. Mentioned I was a coeliac. No effort made to offer gluten free bread or choices for dessert. Such a shame.

Relaxing nautical themed room with beautiful view of Kenmare Bay. The entire staff were very professional and most importantly very friendly as well. We enjoyed calamari and fish cakes for starters salmon and sea bass for dinner all cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Although we were stuffed from dinner we couldn't resist the urge to try dessert. The warm... More

In reviewing any restaurant, it is of course important to report all aspects of the overall experience, so let me begin by simply saying go there and enjoy. Overall, ‘The Boathouse Bistro’ is a great gastro experience overlooking the calm Kerry waters of Kenmare Bay, lapping gently as they do, just a few metres from your table. Menu and wine... More

We had a positively fantastic experience here for dinner. The sun was shining and the patio offered beautiful views to soak up during dinner. The food was delicious, though it is focused on seafood primarily, which limits options for those who may not enjoy seafood. The staff were quite friendly and the price was reasonable. We would absolutely recommend this... More
