We ate as a family of four in Tom Crean and I really like the very flexible children menu - I asked for the children to have fresh fish but not breaded (as fish and chips was on the menu) they served them a very nice portion of grilled hake with vegetables. They loved it! I had the mussels (excellent)... More

All the servers were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful. The Proprietor, Aileen Cream O'Brien warmly greets every guest. Moreover, she is spirited and carrying on the adventuress heritage of her family. The food was spectacular. We particularly recommend the sole. What a great restaurant!

Food was delicious with great flavours. Waitress was very knowledgable and helpful in selection from the menu. Was a very enjoyable evening. The dining room was more like a canteen than a restaurant but there was a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Probably a bit overpriced.

An excellent meal with fantastic quality seafood. The seafood chowder was beautiful and we were very happy with the quality of the food and service.

What a lovely place to dine with friendly and efficient staff , and fantastic food with presentation second to none, Aileen knows her job and never fails to come up trumps, she comes out to talk to diners which is always a good trait of any chef, cant rate her food and presentation highly enough, We will definitely return.

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal and service at this restaurant. The restaurant is charming inside and has some terrific posters etc depicting the exploits of heroic 19th century explorer and adventurer Tom Crean. The proprietor of Tom Creen Fish & Wine Restaurant is Aileen Crean-O'Brien, Tom Crean's granddaughter. We had the pleasure of meeting Aileen during our... More

As a renowned sea food restaurant I was a bit skeptical eating here as a vegetarian but I am so glad I did. I've never been to any other restaurant where the staff were so fantastic at not just explaining the various options available for me (without even being asked) but also to offer alternatives off the menu. And they... More

I was in Kenmare recently on my hen weekend. We booked a dinner for 25 of us in Tom Creans Restaurant. They gave us our own private room, which was great because then we didn't feel like we were interrupting anybody elses dinner and we could be as loud as we wanted. The food was really lovely - top notch... More

Hi Rose, Thanks for taking the time to give us a 5* review. Glad you enjoyed the "Hen Hunt", it's just a bit of fun and more about meeting up in the various " watering holes" :-), though some "chicks" do take it seriously and are quite competitive. Delighted that you enjoyed the food and yes the Tom Crean Room... More

We visited this restaurant last year and it was very good. So we looked forward to a return visit. Our starter of a cup of seafood chowder was adequate. There was a good deal of fish but it lacked the bite of a really good chowder. For mains we had lemon sole and sea bass. The lemon sole was soft... More

Dear Patrick, Thank you for your return business. I’m sorry to hear you were not happy with the food. I can’t understand why you were disappointed with the chowder, it’s the same recipe I use, I learned it from a Michelin chef in the 5* Park Hotel Kenmare, many years ago and we never received a complaint to date. We... More
