Expected the food to be fancier for the price. Overpriced for what we got, but looks lovely & good atmosphere and very friendly staff.

The Lime Tree staff were great, they looked after our large group superbly. The meals were enjoyed by all, chef Mick was able to cater for a special lamb request and a vegan dish. The chowder was my personal favourite.

We have eaten at The Lime Tree on previous holidays in Ireland. It has always been an enjoyable experience, and this meal was no different. Highlights were the soup of the day, the Goats Cheese with Beets vegetarian main (which was exceptionally good), and the scrumptious dessert crepes. The butterscotch sauce and the crepes themselves were such a treat, and... More

We took our time to enjoy a very good meal at this restaurant without any pressure from staff to move along so they could turn the table. The food was delicious! Had the prawn cocktail and chowder to start and steak and lamb for main course. Both were cooked perfectly. Shared chocolate brownie for dessert-yummy!

Ate at The Lime Tree this week and was very disappointed with the food. My crab claws were totally over cooked and dried up. My husbands lamb two ways was very unexciting, shepherds pie ( our student sons effort would be better). Atmosphere nice and staff good but food a let down.

Located in an ancient stone building, Lime Tree is a romantic setting with exceptional food. One of the best meals we had in Ireland. Average wine list (a commonplace in Ireland), and a very varied menu of an ambitious kitchen. Lovely and attentive service. Highly recommended.

Food and service were both very nice. I dined with a travel group and they provided very attentive service. I had the lamb and others had about everything else on the menu. Everybody enjoyed their dish.

Its one of the few places where the food is halfway alright. Prawn cocktail and smoked salmon were above average, the sirloin steak - even so not a sirloin - was well seasoned and prepared, the chicken ok, the accompaining veggies were overboiled, just like almost everywhere in Ireland... The coice of wines ok.

Last meal of our week and definitely saved the best until last, and there's some quality food on offer in Kenmare so that's high praise. Great service, lovely setting and feel about the place, especially downstairs where we sat. Food was delicious, a good wine menu to enjoy and simply nothing to fault. Three courses off the set menu for... More

Lovely small restaurant in a charming historic stone building. One of the finest meals we had in Ireland. Delicious fresh menu choices perfectly prepared and presented. A perfect evening.
