The Bulls Head is the place to visit very friendly which serves great food. The menu gave a wide choice and we was not dissapointed. If you are in Ashford-in-the-Water it deserves a visit.

We stopped here after visiting Monsal Head. We stayed for and had a drink and a panini, but having seen the menu, decided to return later for a meal. The bar staff we met were friendly and happy to chat. I went for the steak and the price was £14.95. This was about £3 cheaper than anywhere else we had... More

Quaint country pub in the middle of the village. We had lunch (ploughman's and panini) in their beer garden at the back of the pub. We arrived quite early (12.15) and so the pub was quiet and the food arrived promptly. By the time we left the pub was full, service was slow and the wait for food was getting... More

Spent a couple of days in the Peak District in Ashford in the Water and very happy to have found this gem of a pub. Had lunch one day and dinner another. Lovely lovely staff and fab food - loved the chicken, bacon and Stilton panini and the steak dinner was to die for. If you ask nicely the chef... More

Slightly unkempt and untidy and a stale cooking smell dominating in one of the bars. One bar waiter tried to provide a welcome and service, to his credit. The food was indifferent to the point of embarrassing: beige steak (not enough heat) and limp, stodgy chips.

Staying local, so went to this pub for an evening meal, was told there would be a wait of 30 minutes.......an hour later still waiting. Asked for money back. Timed a chap who came in just for a drink, it took him over 30 minutes until he was served at the bar! We went to the Wheatsheaf in Bakewell instead,... More
