My father and I ate both dinner and breakfast here as we were staying at the attached Premier Inn. I have got to say that the pub is very clean and looks nice. The menu is quite large so caters for everyone. The prices are good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Decided to go for carvery late Sunday afternoon, 10/July/16. Firstly, I went to the bar to order drinks. My Sharps Atlandtic was off, changed with no problem, but ended up with a pint of Sharps Doombar, which was lifeless. Ordered two carveries, sadly the choice of meats was down to two. Good selection of veg, but the veg need's to... More

Some food items were not available even a drink I wanted was unavailable have never had this happen before, so this did spoil the evening... More

Good food, good service and a very well kept cellar. Wholesome meals without the frills, very popular with locals. Busy, bustling and friendly. Themed nights are a delight, go back for seconds, thirds or a whole different plate. Friday night is 'chip shop night', last time out I had:- fishcake, chips and beans, went back for sausage, chips and curry... More

A meeting place for my husband's family and somewhere to play for the toddlers including my grandson. It is traditional pub faire but very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The indoor play area is ideal for ages 18 months to maybe 4 years old but there is an outdoor play area for older children which is much more challenging. A good... More

We used to eat here a lot last year finding the old 2 4 10 menu very good value. An at least if a few things aren't quite right you let it slide because it's cheap. The new menu came in an we went twice bitterly disappointed with the quality of food an portion size. There is never enough staff... More

We booked dinner for 8pm ordering, 2 prawn cocktails, 2 steaks medium-rare. I am allergic to chillies & the prawn cocktails were dusted with red ? which staff could not identify, chef confirmed it was paprika. That was not in the menu description. At 9.10 the steaks arrived 1 was medium-well done with a cold peppercorn sauce, cold veg. & chips so... As regular customers we have put up with poor food service for a while but enough is enough when we complain to the manager and get told we should EXPECT to wait for 45 minutes to cook a medium steak despite not being told of the wait The waiting staff are great and really apologetic but we have visited for...
