Enjoyed a great weekend of good and service. Excellent food. Dinner portions stylish and small but well cooked. Sword fish was exceptional. Lunch and breakfast were generous. Would recommend to families and couples as a get away from it all location. Nice grounds for walking, including river side and follies, before or after a meal. Good afternoon tea.

Very good food but nouvelle cuisine, don't expect large portions. The service was excellent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, would be good for a special occasion. Breakfast by contrast was very generous.

It's a lovely touch having the... More

We booked Easter Sunday lunch and it turned out to be a great decision. We were welcomed by (we think) the restaurant manager who was a lovely chap and very attentive. After pre-dinner drinks we were taken to the dining room and proceeded to have an excellent meal with each course a delight, including coffee. The service was excellent and... More

Lets start off with the good bits. The food was fantastic. The lamb was particularly good. All 3 courses were presented well and tasted great. The service was also efficient and charming. So, why not 5 stars? A few things were just 'off'. The general decor of the restaurant is not great. The tables aren't great and in keeping with... More

Stayed the night at Bishopstrow and had a delicious evening meal and breakfast. The duck was the best main I have ever had and the smoked salmon bagel was scrumptious!

We had lunch , very attentive high class service and gluten free alternatives for my wife. I had chicken with roasted vegetables followed by a cheese platter and my wife had assorted vegetables, gluten-free bread followed by chocolate torte. All were beautifully produced, reasonable portions and very tasty. Well satisfied customers.

A group of five of us, my parents, wife and sister, decided on the Bishopstrow as my parents had stayed and eaten there when they first moved to the area. On arrival we were met by a very courteous and pleasant restaurant manager and service team. We had chosen to go on a Sunday Jazz day, quite a fun concept.... More

I absolutely love this restaurant. I cannot recommend it enough. I have never been disappointed. It is a true credit and rightly deserves it top class reputation.
