We had lunch here before going on a walk along the river Itchin. The staff were friendly and the special menu was varied and good. We had a curry - excellent, and a baked potato and a fish dish followed by deserts. There is a range of excellent beers. If you are in the area, worth a visit,

Lovely country pub. The food is ace.. never been disappointed. We first visited in 2005 on a hse hunting visit. We did buy a hse in the area and continued to visit to this day. The pub has changed visually over the years but the staff and standard has remained. Great little place..Worth a visit. There is a down side..... More

Whilst in the area, we stopped at the Pheonix for a bite to eat. Landlord & his staff were extremely nice folk and the young waiter was superb! Food was very reasonable and of a nice standard for the price. If your looking for good honest food, great hospitality and spot on customer service then look no further. It's always... More

We go to Phoenix at least twice a month. The food is good home cooked and if you want something off the menu within reason Paul and Emma will try to supply. They are friendly enough that should you have a problem they will be happy to correct anything. They are approachable!!!!! If something is not to your taste or... More

Absolutely lovely family friendly pub, staff very polite and friendly and lovely open fire. However, I must say the food was the worst I have eaten out for a long time, especially for the price. Very bland curry and my husband had burnt chicken on his old salad. I was expecting a lovely Bakewell tart for over 5 pounds and... More

Thank you for your review ! Having discussed this with my partner it seems when asked if every thing was ok when clearing your plates by The Landlady, you implied that your family had enjoyed the meal. It is a shame that your thoughts were not expressed at this time as we could have discussed the meals and if necessary... More

We went in for dinner on the spur of the moment. The staff were very welcoming despite the lack of booking. The vegetarian tart was particularly delicious and I enjoyed my raspberry and meringue pud too. There is a really nice atmosphere and we had a lovely evening.

We enjoy the Phoenix for its informal atmosphere and friendly staff. Generous portion sizes at fair prices makes this a welcome, easy place to come for a meal and a drink when you just want to relax. Nothing pretentious - just a lovely local pub where you can take the paper or a pack of cards, and feel welcome.

This is our 4th visit to a lovely pub just outside Winchester,my daughter is at Winchester and this is a great place to meet for the family. The pub has plenty of parking. The food is great and reasonably priced with a good choice for all. The staff are lovely and you always receive a warm welcome.
