This is the 2nd time I have eaten here but on this occasion I was staying there as well, they have 3 rooms above the restaurant. We were with a group cycling in the area. They are just so helpful (storing bikes)...service..the food is brilliant..some of the places we stay at struggle to serve a group all at once (8)...but... More

Stayed two nights here before tackling a long and hilly cycle ride. The rooms were clean and well laid out. Crisp white cotton sheets and fluffy white bath towels were a sumptuous bonus in the functional rooms. The breakfast orders were taken the night before from a good selection including smoked salmon and poached eggs with hollondaise sauce, porridge, full... More

Just had the best Mother's Day lunch at this great pub, even though it was packed with people queuing and waiting we were served really quickly in smart fashion. The food was just soooooo good, the roasts were perfect in every way and the mussels were the best i have ever eaten in 30 years. I would say it was... More

Initially thought we could walk, but it said on google an hour walk or a 8 min taxi ride. Beautiful on the inside, very cosy, loved the log fire. Real smart pub feel to it, staff were great, very friendly, not in your face at all and had an air of professionalism about them. We thought the menu was on... More

Dropped in when the M3 was a nightmare to let the traffic die down. Lamb neck fillet pie was delightful and full of chuncky soft meat, great greeting and good service. Definitely be back again

We visited on a Monday night, which we booked a week ahead. I ordered a pint of Flowerpots Ale, brewed locally, and my wife chose a glass of Nobilo Marlborough sauvignon blanc. The amuse-bouches were very tasty, mine contained delicious smoked duck and stilton. Mussels were on the menu but had run out, so we chose the prawn, crab and... More

We called in on a Saturday lunchtime without a booking - the staff were friendly and found us a table. I had the salmon and poached egg which was delicious my husband had the crab sandwich which he said was also amazing. By the time we left it was full - we had a great lunch.

Excellent all round. Greeting on arrival, quality of the room, quality of the food and value for money. Really nice room with tea / coffee and excellent bathroom facilities. Food was some of the best I've had recently and the bar had plenty of room for locals and also visitors like myself. Breakfast was delivered to the room and was... More

What a great lunch we had today - great food with excellent service. My wild mushroom risotto was just perfect, as was my husband's trio of Hampshire pork. Our friends both enjoyed fish dishes - a beautifully presented crab, prawn & avocado salad, and the duo of battered fish. The selection of local cheeses was enough for two to share,... More

We have eaten here numerous times and we have always had lovely food, it's sourced locally also. The ales are great and a good choice. My wife enjoys the bubbly, a lot... highly recommended.
