Ate lunch here with friends after finding it on TA. Pub is on quite a busy road so sitting outside is not a restful option. Food was pretty good and not badly priced. Problem with service was we were not offered condiments but we asked. It was not busy but we had practically finished our meals before the condiments turned... More

Booked a table in a Friday night for 8 of us, celebrating a birthday. Lovely evening and started with drinks outside where the attentive staff brought menus to us. Food ordered and made our way to the table. Overall good prices for the food, starters were generally good but mains were a bit hit and miss e.g. 3 people had... More

I was recommended to try this place for lunch and we were delighted to have been there for lunch; the whole place exudes charm and welcome, the staff are friendly and attentive. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the food was a delight, very generous portions, so we did not sample the desserts, but if they are anything like... More

Having read previous comments mostly great, I was baffled to see some eeijit marked this place down having not eaten here. By the by, your paranoia is unfounded, no self respecting pub would water anything down certainly not one with this one's standing. Ambience: Perfect for our sunny Sunday lunch. Staff were really helpful and very friendly. Food: Was top... More

I booked this restaurant on the strength of previous reviews. It was a good night but the service let it down a little. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to go straight to our table or have a drink at the bar and we said straight to table. It then appeared that our table wasn't actually ready... More

Fully recommend this place , had the beef fillet medallions which tasted fantastic, staff friendly and attentive and they have got a couple of sharps ales on tap , kids had a chicken and ham pizza and a caesar salad which they loved , the rest of the family had turbot in shrimp champagne sauce and sea bass both which... Another visit to the Roebuck and we all left happy with both the food and service. A good selection of fresh fish specials and a varied menu meant everyone found something they wanted. Would definitely recommend!

We ducked in here out of the rain and were contemplating having an evening meal when we saw the menu and busy dining room. We had a couple of drinks, in what doubled as an overflow dining area and lounge/waiting area, whilst reviewing the fare on offer and would have stayed but for two observations: (a) the "Gordons" gin served,... We visited the Roebuck for dinner, having booked ahead for a weekend away. We had a table in the Snug, and were shown to the table even though we were early. There was a varied menu to choose from plus interesting specials which a member of staff went through with us. We had the koftas and seared calamari to start... More
