Wasn't planning this restaurant but we're both hungry and ready for dinner. No prior booking but this wasn't a problem. Quickly escorted to a lovely, and very comfortable table for two. We had exceptional service from property trained staff. Very prompt attention but even more importantly the quality and presentation of our meals was first class. No long waiting and... More

We originally planned to stop at The Throckmorton but unfortunately when we arrived we were informed that they were closed due to not having any electricity. We drove further down the road and stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant that had, on reflection a very very good menu that was both full of choice and extremely delicious! Very very good service... More

A real shame as usually pleased with the food here. The steak was really boring and not a good cut for the price tag. The falafal burger was just mush. Infact the chips were the only decent thing on the plate. Disappointed, maybe the food served after 7.30 is lower grade due to the heavily discounted price on Thursday before... More

Dined at the Moat House 22nd Feb as we were staying in the area, & had an excellent meal. We were in the bar area, seemed very busy for a Tuesday early evening, but served very promptly, & the food was excellent. A little bit pricier than an average pub, but the food was much better than average, so felt... More

Went here for lunch with my son. We didn't book on a very busy Friday but were offered a table immediately. Lovely food, attractive surroundings and great service.

Such a lovely pub with beautiful decor, great service and tasty food. What more could you ask for?! 25% off if you go before 7pm mon-thurs makes it even more attractive.

I've visited the Moat House and number of times for various business related meals, each time the service has been prompt, polite and helpful. The food is good quality and has the right amount of variety. Importantly the dining areas / tables are well laid out and you can eat in peace without fighting for space or to hear.

We quite often pop in for a quick drink and sometimes a bite to eat, it's our preferred place for a special night out when we book the restaurant and have meal, birthdays, wedding anniversary etc. As my wife is a coeliac, we have to be careful where we eat out, a lot of places say that they can cater... We have visited some of the other Lovely Pubs chain (Baraset Barn and The Boot) but this was our first time at The Moat House Inn. Happy to say that the standard of food and service was to the usual high standard. Hubbie had the Sunday Roast, I had fishcakes with poached eggs and hard-to-please-son had a pizza which he... More
