As per the title, I thought that I would take the easy option and visit the Halfway House. The menu was maybe just above my station, making ordering difficult for me and my wife who like simple things. When our food came it was good but not as fancy as what the bill made it out to be. For me... More

Have not been in here for years. Lovely comfortable spot and it was quite busy for mid week just after Christmas. Good lunch menu range from the light bite to the full deal. We just had a quick very taste soup service quick and efficient. Will call again

Stopped here en route to Derry recently. First impressions - very warm and welcoming room with friendly stafff. Spotlessly clean bathrooms. Small menu but something for everyone and very interesting sounding desserts which unfortunately I didn't get to try. Service was polite and helpful. Kids had pasta which they enjoyed. We had the steak deal -2 steaks, 2 sides (chips... More

We had a beautiful meal here and they got us a table at very short notice, The food was great and there was a steak deal on for two people with sides, sauce and a bottle of wine included, great value for money. Food was plentiful and as none of us were drinking we could take the wine home with... More

Stopped here for lunch with some friends after a morning at Rostrevor MTB trails. We had worked up an appetite and weren't disappointed. Guinness went down well and the steak sandwich was tasty, but not a sandwich. It was just set on a piece of bread 🍞 Apart from this oversight it is worth a visit

The Halfway House used to be the 9th highest rated restaurant in the whole of Northern Ireland. However our New Year's Eve dinner was more akin to the 9th lowest rated. A very disappointing end of year meal. When we entered at 6:30pm we waited nearly 5 minutes to be seated. This didn't really matter, as we knew that New... More

Called for light bite returning from holiday. Service: Seated quickly. Asked for drink twice before receiving it. Food: Good. Nicely presented. Tasty. Drink: Had wine brought in glass. Asked for 2nd glass of wine. Small bottle brought on tray and left on table-No clean glass. No pouring of wine- Poor wine service. Staff: 5 young staff stood chatting and laughing... More

It's a while since I've eaten here. The venue has now been extended quite a bit. The service was poor. Very slow and unattentive. The food was fine and value for money.
