We wanted a table for two on a Sunday and called in on spec -were very busy so couldn't take us. We managed to get an evening booking and we're very pleased we did. The service was good and the meal very well cooked and enjoyable. There was an excellent range of meals on offer. I had slow cooked beef... More

Was eating here with friends on Saturday night. We had a booking for 7 o`clock, and just as well we had booked because the restaurant down stairs was absolutely packed. 2 of us choose the monk fish in a curry sauce with prawns and noodles. A third friend ordered the breast of chicken and the fourth went for a 12... More

Went for lunch this week. Shown to table with dirty place mats, crusty food stuck to the sear upholstery and a sticky table. The toilets didn't fair any better. If you can look past that the food wasn't bad. Had a sin free chicken .. The four baby new potatoes made sure there wasn't too many calories for sure. Friend... More

Visited the Windrose twice in one week. Once for lunch and once for dinner. On both occasions the food was lovely. On both occasions it took around 30 mins for the food to arrive. The restaurant and the toilets need a refurb as it hasn't been updated in many years. The evening ambient music was loud and too modern for... More

Outstanding return to the Windrose staff very helpful and accommodating since we didn't book a table we have visited twice now on a Sunday and the food was outstanding. We had two courses for £16 this was exceedingly good value for the quality of the food. We will be back and highly recommend this for the views and the quality... More

As a party of 26 we booked to celebrate my mums 70th birthday in the restaurant. The staff were fantastic as was the food. I had dealt with Russell when making the booking who ensured everything was sorted for me and he arranged a three course menu for us to choose from. The menu was top class with good choices... More

I've reviewed this place a few times now and went in on Sunday to try the new menu. It's really very good....I had the duck to start, was tender and bursting with flavour, as was the jus though I could have down with a little bit more. Main of beef cheeks and braised rib is a really good, flavourful dish... More

Beautiful food. Pleasant atmosphere and a wonderful location. This restaurant is fronting the marina. I enjoyed the food and prices were competitive. The only fault I could find was that the service was a bit slow.

Five of us called in here for something to eat between meetings. We decided on the soup and sandwich combo especially after they agreed we could have the seafood chowder as our soup choice. It was fabulous and the selection of sandwiches was very tasty. Would certainly return if only to have the full size chowder portion. Very enjoyable lunch... More
