Brilliant evening, apon booking I was asked if I would like table for the evening which was most welcome as my guess's had travelled many miles. The atmosphere and staff were most welcoming, the menu inviting a separate vegetarian menu was also offered. Please try the home made steak pie with its puff pastry top it was amazing just melted... We were recommended this place by a few people, most of whom live 40+ miles away, so we booked a table here for a meal following a graduation. From the outside, this looks like any quaint village pub steeped in history. When we arrived, we were met with a warm welcome from the lady at the bar, and we were... More

Great food as usual, always happy to pay that bit more for a great meal, Shame about that huge mirror in the dining room, this needs to go! It's not good seeing yourself feed your face! Not a criticism of the food or service, oh, they have but brown ale! Brilliant!

Good solid food and nice atmosphere - especially in winter by the open fire - but overall a bit pricey. Good friendly people and well worth a visit just don't expect haute cuisine.

First time here in years – went for an evening meal for two couples. Good selection of food but main meals are not cheap – for example fish and chips is £14.95. Service was reasonably quick and the portion sizes were big. The food was very good but we would have preferred smaller (normal) portions, better presented at a cheaper... More
