We were staying in Gargrave, so only a short drive to Skipton. There is a massive carpark only 20 metres away from Thai basil. The building is beautiful, in what is now a regenerating area. There is a B&M store and a Morrisons across the way, close, but not too close. A bit of a shame these lovely old buildings... More

We have been here several times for lunch when we visit Skipton. The service is always very good and the front of house is always smiling and she always gives us a great welcome. The food is just typical authentic Thai food - lovely.

Visited this restaurant and had the lunchtime menu. The food was top notch and the special menu was brilliant value for money. Tom Yum soup was spicy and beautifully flavoured. The beef basil stir fry was lovely. Overall, in my experience you could not get this quality food for the price anywhere else. Definitely visit again when back in Skipton.

Day trip to Skipton for hiking and photography. I purposefully delayed my visit for Tuesday to coincide with Thai Basil hours and wasn't disappointed. As other reviews have stated the decor is great, service excellent and food delicious. Linen napkins and traditional Thai dress for the hostesses makes the experience that much more delightful. I was somewhat underdressed I felt,... More

Hadn't booked a table but we had no problems. Very polite staff. There was a table of 5 already in and it wasn't long before another couple joined us. The food is lovely, we had the number 2 set dinner with a soup to start with. Nice bottle of wine and a couple of shinga beers went down a treat.... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant yesterday evening, Saturday 16th July. We had been decorating all day and dropped in on the off chance there was a table free; we managed to get the last one! We were greeted with a warm smile by a friendly Thai lady and duly shown to our table in the former lounge of... More

Presentation of restaurant staff and food excellent. So nice to have linen napkins. Food well cooked and portions generous. Missed out on 5 stars as the wine no more than adequate, if that.

Dined here as we fancied something different from the restaurants back home while on a short break to Skipton and was not disappointed. Got the set menu for two which came with a good variety of starters and some tasty main courses which we washed down with bottle of wine that was recommended by the staff. Reasonably priced and very... More

4th time we've been and it didn't disappoint us yet again. The staff are friendly and the chef is superb. All the courses were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Thanks Thai Basil for another great meal!

Description
The restaurant is founded in 2011. It is new to this town but Thai restaurants are not new to our experiences. We are a group of people who are passionate about food and have an overwhelming desire to create our own family restaurant where we can cook a good quality of food in a good atmosphere. We started our dream by renting a restaurant in Shipley, and then stepped forward to found our own restaurant in Skipton, the small historic market town in North Yorkshire with beautiful scenery, this makes it a perfect place for us.---Our Promises--- We promise to prepare and cook every dish with pride, using the finest ingredients and vegetables sourced locally, to create not only delicious but also healthy food for our customers. The tasty food is cooked by a chef of vast experience who worked for many years in a 5-star hotel in Thailand and in Thai restaurants in the UK. Not only do we aim to make tasty food we also strive to provide a friendly and excellent service in a smart and intimate dinning atmosphere. Our high standards of cleanliness are proven by achieving a5-star rating in Food Hygiene. We also have an excellent reputation given by our customers on Trip Advisor which ranks us amongst the top restaurants in Skipton. You can trust us to ensure that you will spend a wonderful time here, and you will want to come back again and again.
