We popped in here for an afternoon drink out of the cold. There was a roaring fire which was so welcoming. Staff were really friendly. Definitely the best pint in skipton!

The pub is at the bottom of the High Street and is a Taylors house. We found the service poor when we visited even though the pub was not busy. The beer is very expensive ( compared to other pubs in Skipton.) OK for tourists but locals will drink elsewhere.

Popped up to Skipton on a day out. A friend of mine called Simon recommended this place. To my delight they had venison on the menu and oh my what a treat. The venison was amazing. I nearly cried into my plate. It was cooked really well and was melt in the mouth. My partner had the butternut squash omelette.... More

The pub is very busy and constant coming and going of customers. There was standing room only when we visited although there was seating for people ordering food. Reasonable range of drinks and the eating area seemed very popular.

Me and my boyfriend called in here for a late lunch having spent a few hours drifting around the castle and were very pleasantly surprised by the ambience. Firstly, and being a person who suffers from the cold mostly, was the fantastic roaring fire in the front room of the pub which we were both very happy to see! The... More

I know this place has great reviews, but when we popped in for lunch we were disappointed. Service was good, menu good, ambiance great, but actual food poor. I had a beef brisket and onion sour dough sandwich, lightly fried. It was so greasy I couldn't eat the bread and the brisket was really flavourless. My hubby had a BLT... More

Just visited for my Birthday meal with family, great grub as always I had the Pigeon breast and black pudding to start, followed by roast beef. Meat was brilliantly cooked as always, service very friendly and efficient. I love to go here for meals on special occasions, the beer is always top notch and the food delightful. Keep it up!
