We dined Christmas evening after viewing the menu online. Unfortunately, the actual dishes didn't meet our expectations for quality. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower and Shrimp & Grits. The Shrimp & Grits was excellent but the Cauliflower was too al dente for my...taste and should have been cut more bite size. There were 8 or so pieces of very large flowerets battered and deep fried with the sauce pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Our main course was the Mahi Mahi and the Shrimp Fettucine. The Mahi with buerre blanche was very good. The rice was a little bland but the sauce helped. The Shrimp Fettucine was bland and boring. I thought there might be more of a sauce on the pasta but it seemed simply tossed with stewed tomatoes and a few small pieces of peppers. I was expecting more of a fresh tomato tossed with a light white wine sauce or something. The dish also could have used a bit of salt to flavor it up. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but likewise bland. Dessert was probably the highlight of the meal. A caramel apple cheesecake and lilikoi creme brulee, although the creme brulee wasn't quite set and was rather runny. It still tasted good. The newly remodeled interior is lovely but we were sat at probably the worse table in the dining room (despite an early reservation and better options available). The window we were seated by was the only one closed in the whole place. The window design is such that when seated near the window, you can't see the expansive views. You need to duck down or stand up to enjoy the views. It is best to be seated at one of the tables with open air viewing instead of inside near an open window. Overall, unimpressed. There are much better restaurants on Maui at this price point.More

We hadn't been to Plantation in years, but decided to give it another go this year! We are so happy we made that decision because it was our favourite meal of the entire trip! The food was exceptional, especially the Macademia-Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi. The...drinks were all delicious and in the cutest glasses. Our server, Ryan, was so friendly and made the whole dinner that much better! He was very personable and was lovely to chat with and he gave us great recommendations of what to eat. We will definitely be eating here every time we visit!More

Nice view and good service make it a good spot to dine. It doesn't get a four or five star rating because the entree I ordered, the pork shank, was way under cooked and tough. They did deduct the cost of my entree from the...bill, which was good, and the food my wife ordered was good. The kitchen needs to ensure more consistency.More

Beautiful setting, but it stops there. We waited over an hour for our food before we left. Sat down in a relatively empty restaurant at 9:15, ordered at 9:25. Several tables came over the next 30 minutes while we patiently waited for our food. At...10:00, the table seated at 9:45 was served while 3 of the tables seated earlier continued to wait. I asked the waiter why they were served so quickly while we were still waiting and he completely blew us off like we were being so demanding. 20 minutes later, still no food and our waiter just rolled his eyes and said “I’m sorry, your food will be out shortly “. At 10:30 the waiter was no where in sight and no sign of any food so we left. I told the host to tell the manager that we were leaving. We had to wait 10 minutes for our car, and no one came out to say anything to us while we sat outside the restaurant. This was without a doubt a doubt the worst experience I have ever had and without a single explanation or sincere apology. Two tables nearby left while we were waiting for our car and, again, no one bothered to stop them. If you aren’t hungry this is a great place to visit for the view but if you want to eat, good luck.More

We recently took visitors to Maui up to the Plantation House for brunch, always a favorite of mine to show new folks the beauty of the islands. The Plantation Golf Course is famous for the Tournament of Champions every January and the scenery is breathtaking....The Plantation House Restaurant is at the 18th hole and has sweeping views of the golf course all the way down to the water. Scenery just doesn't get any better than this, and the restaurant is lovely and food excellent. You would think a restaurant like this would be very expensive, but it is very reasonable and the service excellent. They have numerous breakfast entrees and lunch as well. I have probably sampled everything over the years and everything is delicious and well-presented. Don't miss this -- you won't regret it!!!More

We wanted to try the Plantation House so we went there one day for breakfast. The panoramic views from the restaurant are breathtakingly beautiful. Wow! The breakfast was pretty much standard breakfast fare - OK. We really did enjoy the banana bread we ordered, which...we had before our breakfast came out. That was a big success. They also had a very nice kiddies menu for the toddler in our family, which we appreciated.More

They Lost our Open Table reservation. Waited 20 minutes to see wait staff. Her first words were “Are you ready to order.” Meanwhile we watched other tables get a Hello, Welcome, etc. within 5 minutes of seating. A welcome at a restaurant goes far. Food good,...nothing great. WE HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS. MAYBE THIS WAS AN “OFF” DAY?More

Great place for breakfast or lunch which will not break the bank. Great Kalua pork and Kula veggie scramble. My son had the burrito breakfast which he could not finish. Fantastic views of the golf course.
