We dined Christmas evening after viewing the menu online. Unfortunately, the actual dishes didn't meet our expectations for quality. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower and Shrimp & Grits. The Shrimp & Grits was excellent but the Cauliflower was too al dente for my...taste and should have been cut more bite size. There were 8 or so pieces of very large flowerets battered and deep fried with the sauce pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Our main course was the Mahi Mahi and the Shrimp Fettucine. The Mahi with buerre blanche was very good. The rice was a little bland but the sauce helped. The Shrimp Fettucine was bland and boring. I thought there might be more of a sauce on the pasta but it seemed simply tossed with stewed tomatoes and a few small pieces of peppers. I was expecting more of a fresh tomato tossed with a light white wine sauce or something. The dish also could have used a bit of salt to flavor it up. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but likewise bland. Dessert was probably the highlight of the meal. A caramel apple cheesecake and lilikoi creme brulee, although the creme brulee wasn't quite set and was rather runny. It still tasted good. The newly remodeled interior is lovely but we were sat at probably the worse table in the dining room (despite an early reservation and better options available). The window we were seated by was the only one closed in the whole place. The window design is such that when seated near the window, you can't see the expansive views. You need to duck down or stand up to enjoy the views. It is best to be seated at one of the tables with open air viewing instead of inside near an open window. Overall, unimpressed. There are much better restaurants on Maui at this price point.More
