We arrived in San Sebastian for our first visit with our friends Bill and Kathy and they introduced to to Coco and Walter. We were the only table that night as it is low season. The restaurant is in Coco's childhood home decorated with Italian and Mexico theme, the garden is beautiful, but the highlights are the conversations with the... More

Coco is the co-owner of Montebello, with her husband, Walter. So my comments (excellent!) for that restaurant apply equally here.

I have known the owners, Coco and Walter, for ten years. Walter worked on an ocean cruse ship for many years and managed several 5 star restaurants onboard. The food in this quaint bistro is beyond quality. It is melt in your mouth divinity. The cook is never off and the home made quality comes through every time. Since I... More

There is no finer Italian restaurant in the Puerto Vallarta area! When you eat here you think you are sitting in a little quaint spot in Belagio, Italy! The food is just as authentic and good. The pasta's melt in your moth, the pizza's are thin, crispy and have great flavor! I haven't eaten better authentic Italian food anywhere in... More

Outstanding! Food, service, setting, wines, hospitality! Be careful scheduling - closed Tues and Weds, and does not open until 1 p.m.

AKA Montebellos Restaurante Italiano. We stopped in late in the afternoon with another couple to enjoy a bottle of wine. You find yourself in this beautiful garden setting, simple and romantic. I'm sure the evenings must be delightful here. Coco was a little rough around the edges but after our friend insisted that she sit and eat her lunch with... More

There is really good food in Puerto Vallarta, but getting out of town to this old Mining town was an experience not to be missed, There seemed to be a couple of good Mexican restaurants, but we were told about this place, and it is incredibly good. Home made pasta, fresh Italian dishes that were as good or better than... More

Coco's (now the Montebello) is one of those "hole in the wall" places that turns out to be an oasis. We dined in their beautiful garden setting. Our guest for the evening was Debra Old from Hacienda Esperanza. My wife and I enjoyed the ravioli while Debra had one of Walter's amazing thin crust pizzas. Coco invited us to enjoy... More
