We were keen to try the a la carte meny, so we booked two tables of 5 for an extended family of ten, as there is a limit of 8 people before a fixed menu is imposed. Two of the group had too much sun and did not join us. The manager took all of this in his stride, suggested we sit outside and fixed a table for us.
He was friendly and helpful throughout the meal and suggested some very good local wines, explaining the kind of grapes and what they are called in English as well as Croatian.
Food was excellent and prices were reasonable - not the cheapest restaurant but good food. We chose some of the more expensive dishes, including a catch of the day whcih was very tasty and well cooked.
Bread came without our asking for us - which was positive as many restaurants in Croatia do not serve bread unless it is ordered as an extra.
At the end of the meal we received a complementary liqueur which was unexpected and good.
The only think I could have wished for was to leave a tip at the end of the meal - the manager typed in the amount on the bill on the credit card reader, ans I did not have any cash on mye to leave a tip.
Service on this occasion was very good and certainly deserved a tip.
We will go back if we have the time during our holiday.

Dinner Experience:
Spinnaker was booked for our first night. Only being a 9 minute walk away, we decided this would be the best option after a long days travel. When arriving there was a traditional Croatian wedding going on downstairs which was amazing. Everyone outside dancing and enjoying food/drinks. Something different being from the UK.
When we got into Spinnaker we had a choice of tables which was great. If you're looking to visit, ask to sit on the upper balcony - the views are absolutely breath taking. Words won't do it justice. Overlooking the sea and an old boatyard on the left, it's amazing.
Our waiter was really attentive and very knowledge on local drinks and cuisine. He recommended a local Croatian gin (which was incredible btw) and arrived at the table nicely decorated with petals and juniper berries. If you are a seafood lover TRY THE OCTOPUS! It was incredible. A real treat and full of flavour. The presentation and taste was a solid 10! And that doesn't come easy.
Food & drinks were middle range, not too pricey & definitely felt value for money based on the quality of the food & drinks.
All in all this is a must if you are staying close by the Kâstel area.
Breakfast Experience:
After having has such an amazing dinner experience, we thought we'd try Spinnaker's for breakfast. In the nicest words, this was somewhat a little disappointing. There only seemed to be one waiter on shift which disrupted the entire flow. Drinks came our very slow, food was even slower and seemed a little overpriced for what it was. Fruit platter was somewhat underwhelming and we waited roughly 45 minutes - 1 hour for food to arrive at the table.
The only positive from breakfast was the omelette was suprisingly very good. Presented well and cooked perfectly. The service just let down this breakfast experience.

This restaurant is interestingly located. It is in a marina where you can see a great many moored yachts from all over the white world. The concrete, steel and glass building looks modern and lightweight, fits perfectly into the surroundings on the ground. Excellent views from the terrace, especially at sunset. We just took an available table here with the permission of the local administrator. The place is quite fancy, but with democratic elements. Recording in advance here is considered good tone. But you don't have to wear tuxedos and evening dresses. Table service is provided at the highest level. Waiters are unobtrusive and emphatically polite. You can feel the preparation. Visitors should not be stingy about tipping staff well for such ceremonial behaviour, which we easily did. The summary will be brief: delicious dishes, well-chosen drinks and a great mood made our trip to this restaurant a real celebration.

Very very good food indeed. The outstanding "thing" for me though on both occasions I visited was the staff and the waiters and waitresses in particular, very knowledgeable and professional. They really made a good impression and brightened things up. The outlook/view is very good and rather entertaining with boats coming and going etc. Plenty of parking available. Inside and outside seating and an elevator for those that require it. The food really is good I must say BUT over priced like the rest of the coast which seems to be the new norm in 2024. Keep in mind I have been coming to Croatia for work since 2003 and have noticed a big change in prices. They are simply nuts and I can only wonder how the locals are dealing with it.

wonderful location, overlooking the marina! two of us had the octopus peka and the others had the chicken! Great portions and delicious flavor. Had an awesome waiter who we considered also the sommelier - enjoyed his selection of local red and white wines on the deck after our meal!

Spending many of our holidays (on sailing yacht Nina) in Croatia we know numerous restaurants in the region. We keep coming back to Spinnaker at Kastela Marina. The food is excellent. The interior classy, fresh and clean. The sea view is wonderful. The service is always pleasant and polite. In short, we are delighted to provide Spinnaker our highest recommendations!

We enjoyed 2 superb evenings at this superb restaurant. 1st evening with my wife, 2nd with the yacht crew . The service was very friendly, truly from the heart and the entire dinner a true delight. Quality of the food, presentation, timing, all deserving michelin rating. The 2nd evening was hosted by the manager . I have never seen such enthusiasm and competence to customer satisfaction. Please keep going.

Very nice place, even for families with small children. Food is amazing, something you won’t prepare at home. Staff is friendly and patient towards kids, there is even a kids zone.

The best food in kaštela, staff is super friendly, amazing atmosfere, big parking space. Any kind of risotto would be my first choice, after that some sea food is amazing. 10/10 would come again

Spinnaker is in the middle of a lovely marina. The restaurant is on the first floor and looks out over the sea towards Split peninsula with some very classy yachts to look at as they come and go. We can for lunch, a nice relaxed, efficient service, menus in Croatian and English. A good selection but too great, good wine list with Croatian and international selection. My wife had clams (huge) and mussels in a delightful broth. I had pork with creamy polenta and beans. Both were absolutely superb. We had a Croatian Sauvignon which was lovely and fresh. Portion sizes were not over fazing. For dessert my wife had a deconstructed cheese cake which was super and I had Cronolli. This was followed by espressi. Good coffee, freshly ground. Great meal, service and location.
