We returned to the Oxford Arms for our annual pre Xmas meet up. ( close to Bicester village and the Old Flight centre) - Its a lovely bright, welcoming bar/restaurant area cosy and comfortable although also smart and stylish. Food outstanding -and service prompt, friendly and happy to advise re wines.

Arrived relatively early on a Saturday night (6.30pm) having found the Oxford Arms on a whim, we're a family of 4, with two late teenage children. Very pleasant greeting and charming atmosphere, although very quiet but it was 6.30. We ordered a drink and sat down, unsure whether we were staying for dinner. There aren't that many tables and it... More

The usual warm welcome, complete with open fire. Had the penned pasta with tomatoes, roasted red pepper, broccoli and Cerny Goat's curd. Just the thing for a fresh November day.

The Oxford's Arms is a family run pub, very good quality and cosy atmosphere. The whole village is nice with a walktour alond a canal. If you are so lucky to meet some villagers, as we were!, you can visit the private park of a mansion. Village and pub vaut le detour!

After an excellent previous visit booked a table of 15 for a family celebration. Was disappointed to say the least. Paper napkins, poor service, felt as if we were not wanted really. Plates not cleared. Seriously lacking in vegetables for a set menu with no options to add on. Under-seasoned fish cakes. If you like lettuce (which accompanied almost every... More

Stopped here for a light lunch and decided to have the venison burger. The food is very well cooked and everything on the plate was fresh but it was not worth the £15 asking price. I felt that it was probably a £10 plate of food given the portion was not enormous and there was not exactly great technical skill... More

Dear Sybil_Fawlty, Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your compliments about quality of our food. This is what you pay for. We didn't understand exactly what did you mean by "not exactly great technical skill on the plate". If you were expecting "towers of food" or "artful dribbles", then you are right such "technical skills" are not... More

Quality food. Good value. Exceeds expectations in comparison to nearby similarly priced alternatives. Welcoming country pub ambience. Good sized table comfortably distanced from other diners. Welcoming and helpful well-trained staff. Looking forward to a return soon.

Fine food and excellent service obviously the recipe for a fantastic evening. The Salt Beef Hash and Cornish Gurnard were fabulous.

Visited for Sunday lunch - lovely meal. I had veggie options but my friends had the roast beef and we all enjoyed our meals. Beautiful spot and interior is beautiful, plus there was a lovely open fire. Service was a little slow but they were full at the time we were there.

We had a lovely lunch here in the summer, sitting under an awning in the garden, we were back last night for an evening meal (Fish Night). We had a delicate crab and saffron pie for starters, a generous portion but not overwhelming, just right for a starter. We had paella for a main - generous selection of seafood in... More
