We were passing through the area and checked what was good nearby on tripadvisor. The Oxford Arms came up and when I saw their 1 star new year's day review, it nailed it for us - that was the place to go. The smiley welcome was great - it got even better with a super Pinot Noir and Viognier by... More

Really made our birthday outing special - sorted the table and timing to suit us despite a late booking, great food and friendly staff. All in all a lovely lunch thanks.

Called in here for lunch on a Saturday which was my birthday and really pleased that we did. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and it was nice to sit by the fire on what was a cold and miserable day. The beer and food was excellent, especially the venison burger which is apparently one of their most popular dishes.... More

The Oxford Arms was warm and welcoming and the staff attentive. We were given plenty of space and time and not rushed. Very pleasant. I had the wild mushroom tagliatelle - tasted good but the pasta was over-cooked which was a shame. Otherwise a lovely evening.

We keep going back to this lovely pub with a great atmosphere. There is an excellent menu and always a selection of specials which change regularly. The quality of the food is wonderful, and I am always tempted to eat more than I should! The chips are fantastic. The wine choices are very good too, and the staff are friendly... More

We booked for the Christmas special menu ten days before Christmas, and were not disappointed. As usual, the ingredients were first rate, and the service was charming and attentive. Choices had to be booked in advance and there were several alternatives for each course to cater for all tastes. At £27 this was a bargain. Frankly, the pub could have... More

Called in last week for a drink and decided to have a quick bite. Ordered some drinks and chips for a nibble. Now I have eaten some chips in my time but these were excellent. Big, crispy, clearly hand cut and served with some tangy ketchup type dip. We asked for mayo and that was no problem. All in all... More

I confess to being biased this is one of my 2 locals. However growing up in London I never really experienced game until I moved here and may I say Bryn has shown me what I have missed. New Years Eve I had pheasant, wood pigeon and black pudding warm salad & it was out of this world. My wife had... More

we found this pub to be rather cold unless you sat right next to the fire. a very red faced gentleman with a slightly shaky hand served us at the bar, the place seemed to lack any sort of atmosphere, just a few people talking in whispers at the rather narrow and i might add wobbly tables or rather the... The review above breaks Trip Advisor rules as we have explained to Trip Advisor several times as clearly as it is possible to do. It seems that we understand their rules better than they do, which is disappointing as we run a restaurant rather than an international website which claims to pride itself on its standards and social responsibility. We've stayed in the village a number of times before, and finally got around to having dinner at the Oxford Arms. It's an old building, all dark wood and low ceilings. This matched the dark night brilliantly, with the roaring open fires making it a cosy place to eat. We both had a lovely meal, fish and a home made... More
