My husband and I had the pleasure of dining here earlier this week. Everything was terrific from start to finish. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a New England Inn. There is a large fireplace at one end, comfortable booths and simple plank tables with high...More

Our hotel manager named Ballard Inn’s “Gathering Table” Restaurant as the best in an area known for its foodie delights—so high praise, indeed. The restaurant is only open to it’s B&B visitors (four diamond B&B) for breakfast, but opens to the public for dinner. We...More

To call this place fine dining is a stretch, sure it has the setting, but the service and quality is far from fine dining. First of all we'd booked a table for 7:45, we arrived early and decided to have a drink on the veranda...More

Went here for dinner with a group and really enjoyed it. Interesting French-Asian fusion flavors, more complex than what I would have expected for a small wine country inn. I got the clams and chorizo special which was delicious. Food was beautifully presented, with great...More

This review only covers the restaurant. I thought the food quality was absolutely excellent. Every dish we ordered was exceptional. That is the end of the praise. The service was quite amateurish. Most of the staff are early 20-somethings who clearly have not received any...More

We've only gone for dinner. The restaurant the nicest decor in the Santa Ynez Valley. The food is excellent, the disappointment is there is no rhyme or reason to how the food comes out and often all at one time. One main course order of...More

The food hear was excellent. We both had white fish and it was cooked perfectly, such that the flavor of the fish was preserved and remained delicate. Sitting outside on the veranda is much better than inside. Ring ahead and make a specific booking. Food...More

I would think so if you booked enough in advance. There was quite a large group there the night we were there--makes for a noisy evening, though.
