Overrated and expensive for what you are served. This is a share/small plate restaurant so you spend a lot for not much food. Some of the items were excellent while other were mediocre. The worst were the lingcod special (a tiny overdone piece of fish that wasn't big enough to share w/ any adult) and short ribs( too fat and... More

Unusual food but not in a good way. Strange sauces used. Noodles over cooked and too much butter and garlic. Brussels sprouts tasted like vinegar. Filet mignon was small. And there's a charge for the bread!

After a long drive up from LA county, was ready to rest and retire. But the dinner was worth staying up for! Lovely sauces, wonderful spicing, tender meats. Extraordinary.

First time I've written a bad restaurant review. I eat fish but not meat. As no veg entree I asked if I could have Arctic char and risotto with veg stock Told chef didn't have any veg stock! Surely he could make in 5 mins?! Got fish which was fine but potatoes were raw. Couldn't spear with fork or knife.... More

One of the best meals I've had in the Valley for a long, long time. The chef has it down - service was friendly and efficient. The room was quiet on this particular evening and that makes a nice change from some restaurants that specialize in assaulting the ears! Excellent list if local wines as well...

Had the ahi tuna. Melted in my mouth. Outstanding and unique sauce. Cooked perfectly. Ceasar salad was wonderful. Cozy atmosphere and good service. Chief Budi Kazali came out to greet us.

We have been coming to Ballard and enjoying it for over ten years. We discounted several reviews of late that noted inexperienced service and uneven food quality. Had dinner after wine tasting and sat on great veranda waiting to be seated. An old Victorian type wood building with nice interior detail and charm. Whether you are staying at the Ballard Inn or not (we were), the Restaurant is fantastic. The food is mouth watering, the staff is great!
