Local in the historic center of Atina run by young people. Local cuisine revisited. Excellent pasta and beans, cod with chicory, fried picinisco chevre. Masterfully calibrated flavors. All really nice and good.

I’ve eaten here almost every year for 15+ years, when ever we visit Atina. They never disappoint. Great quality local ingredients put together with real passion for food and style. The service is always excellent. This might just be my favourite restaurant in the world

Dear lana_64,
thank you from the deepest of our hearts for your review.
It is always a pleasure to have you.
Have a nice day!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Il Vicolo. The appetizers were wonderful, especially the bean puree soup, pasta fagioli, and the unique vegeterian appetizer with separate egg, fondue, and beets dishes. The traditional main dishes were excellent and accompanied with local wines.

This small, charming restaurant was recommended by our B&B in Picinisco and well worth the drive to Atina. It's a family affair with a warm welcome and elegant cuisine with local, fresh ingredients. We had the best truffle pasta of our trip. When we asked...about the ingredients of one dish, the chef came out to explain the recipe. Days later we emailed them to ask about a dessert we had and got a detailed recipe in reply. This family goes above and beyond to provide diners with an old world experience and mouth-watering comfort food, and we will be back on our next trip.More

Very stylish but unpretentious restaurant tucked away in one of old Atina's alleyways. Hence the eponymous 'Il Vicolo'.
Do not expect the normal extensive selection on the menu. The choice is limited but changes monthly. We had been looking forward to tucking into gnocchi but...we're informed they were on the previous menu. Never mind, on this visit we enjoyed the local variation on Pasta and Fagioli and a pasta with walnut, Gorgonzola and cream sauce. The desserts also are worth considering. The waiter was very helpful with choosing an appropriate wine and we opted for a Sangiovese/merlot blend.
Finally, and to me almost important as the food, The ambient music was a nice relaxing jazz mix.More

This restaurant may be reason enough to visit Atina. Everything they do is first class. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else. Dinner here is slow and meant...to be enjoyed over the course of about two hours.More

Fabulous food. Brilliant service. Will be back next visit to Atina.
The waitress was very helpful in translating the menu. My starter see photo was beautiful and fillet steaks were very tender.

Excellent food in lovely surroundings. Plenty of local produce on the menu and all cooked to perfection, with some interesting touches that make Il Vicolo quite unique in the area. The service was great, too. Highly recommended.

Dear Customer,
Thank you so much for your review.
We will be pleased to have you back soon.
Have a nice day!
Having heard good reviews we decided that this would be our chance to try it for ourselves.
We weren’t disappointed.
The waitress brought our menus and in excellent English told us that there was a guest chef in for a few weeks and he’d introduced...a couple of specials to the menu.
Two of us opted for the fillet of beef special, my wife the lamb special and my son the chicken and peppers.
Starters were pizza fritta and some tasters were also brought which went down well. I won’t spoil it for anyone by telling you the taster ingredients.
The guest chef Andy introduced himself and spoke to us to see how we’d liked his food. I was impressed by his enthusiasm for the place and his ideas.
Four clean plates and four satisfied diners says it all.
The nice touch at the end was the chef herself who came to speak to all the diners in a now packed restaurant. Whilst she seemed a bit nervous I can say she had nothing to worry about.
Spotless, nice welcoming atmosphere and fantastic food.More

Called in here for an evening meal while staying in the area. Waiter very attentive and recommended a really great local bottle of wine. All dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. Their panna cotta is the best I've ever tasted. I will definitely call in...next time I'm in Atina.More

This was our second visit here in the last 18 months and as the first time we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service came with a smile and friendly face. We had the pizza fritta to share to start which I would highly recommend. Really tasty...and fresh. I had the grilled steak and old man went for the chicken with red peppers. To accompany our mains we had potatoes and cannelini beans. All the food was fresh and of good quality. The potatoes were on the cold side and the chicken wasn’t really a stew as we had been advised but it was extremely tasty. The venue is charming as are the staff. All in all a very nice experience.More
