We hear that it’s a good restaurant then so excited to try. However, we go around and around but can not find them. No sign, no light, dark way so we have to give up! Too bad! They should have signal board if they are...still running business!More
This place was supposed to be the best on the island, I leave in Cambodia and have been here before it wasn’t great then, but I heard good things from someone in Siem Reap so I tried again.. still terrible I really don’t understand why...this place is number 1 on the island I think maybe someone is joking .. absolutely terrible.. bad staff, bad tasting food and a waste of time .. so really this is not anywhere the best place to eat on the island..go look elsewhereMore
The range of food was very limited and already cold by the time we arrived at 7:00. We were very excited to visit given the excellent online reviews, but it ultimately left us very, very disappointed. The attached photo was the “seafood buffet”. It was...comically bad! You’re much better off finding somewhere else to eat closer to the beach.More
There was little to no variety. The fish was old and the prawns looked terrible. The food was so bad that halfway through the meal we wanted to leave. I ended up eating boiled rice and bok choy for dinner - the seafood and meat...dishes looked so unappealing that we thought that that was the safest option.More
But ... we were the first to arrive a little before 6.30 for the buffet. (Starts at 6.30) Meat was already cold and not that much variety. There was plenty of veggie salad dishes but most contained the same ingredients (which I did not like)...The second round of prawns we took smelt off and my partner took one bite and had to spit it out. (The smell put me off eating anything else)
Only good part was the tempura veg but even they were cold.
For $8 per person I was expecting a lot better. Has the potential to be amazing as the location is beautiful.
Even if they heated up the meat as per order so at least something on your plate was hot.
Wouldn’t recommend 👎More
The Fishing Hook is located up a road on a hill behind the "main strip" of beach in M'Pay Bay. It's an open buffet that costs around $7 with a good variety of dishes. My personal favorites were the meat skewers and the globs of...banana fried w/ cinnamon and sugar. Beer costs extra, but it's cheap -- $1 will get you two cans, I'd guess.More
The place is closed now for few weeks again. But I ve been there before. The food is amazing, open buffet for 8 dollars.
Everything is home made.
The People who are managing the place are really nice, they help local People around. They have...really good heart and the food is delicious.More
I highly recommend this restaurant if you care about taste!!!
