A most enjoyable evening, though sad that it was our last night this time on St John. Staff was very accommodating - no room outside at first, so we sat briefly indoors, and when a table freed up they let us have the first one available. Dinners were all very good - two chicken Tikkas, one vegan curry and a... More

Maybe if one just wanted bottled Guiness it would be OK, but the food was dreadfully dull. Both goat curry and vegan curry were flavorless and the lamb stew was uninspired. Not recommended.

We had very high expectations - the menu sounds great and there have been very good reviews. Unfortunately ours is not one of them. We were there on Christmas night - it was one of the only places open in Coral Bay. They did not offer their usual menu (too bad) but rather a special Christmas dinner. That was okay.... More

Visited the Skipper's Brit Pub for dinner on Christmas eve, and knowing this was one of the only restaurants open we expected it to be busy. The folks there were very nice but the service was not great. Took a while to get menu's. After we received the menu's and finally placed our order (maybe 15 min of sitting there)... More

Our family of 5 had Christmas dinner here this year. The food was very good, as were the drinks. However, we did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table and another 10 for menus. They were one of the few places on the island open for Christmas dinner, so I totally understood them being overwhelmed! We weren't in... More

We used to always bring guests to Sweet Plantains, but had an extremely unsatisfactory visit after the new ownership turned a charming Caribbean Restaurant into a tastless British Pub. Hasn't anyone told the Brits that the Caribbean favors spice and energy, not bland tastless fare? Extremely insensitive to setting and history. Disappointing all around! Will not likely go back...

I'm not sure how to respond to this review, as it doesn't seem that you actually visited our restaurant. If you did you may have tried the curry (like our Caribbean Curried Goat), or tried one of our local fresh seafood dishes. I noticed you reviewed other St John restaurants that are American burger joints, Spanish Tapas, or a Bistro... More

Had a nice meal of bangers and mash, and my wife had cottage pie. Both very tasty. Great entertainment with Chris Carsell, who we catch whenever in St. John

We love it when Chris plays here. He is so talented and such a genuinely nice person. He's now shifted to playing at Skipper's every Tuesday. We hope to see you here again soon. Thanks Steve & Adie More

I wanted to try this newer place in coral bay. A mistake. We ordered the mussels and the chicken tikka masala. The mussels (appetizer) were $17 and were so-so. We had mussels last week at extra virgin in Cruz bay-much much better. The chicken was $24. I have eaten (and also cooked) chicken tikka masala numerous times. In this version,... More

$17 for a pounds of mussels and $24 for an entree on St John is very reasonable. You can find cheaper entrees, but the sides are then alacarte, about $4-$6 each. Oh, and you serve and bus your own table and eat with a plastic knife and fork. Your local bar in the states will use an average 80% mark... More

Stopped here on a recommendation from friends, after dinner at Aqua Bistro, just up the street. Had their Mini Gunnie and beer shots as a night cap. Looks like a place for a younger crowd. They had had a rock band playing earlier.

I'm glad you enjoyed our mini beers and mini guinnie. They are a couple of our favorites. We don't often have bands play, and these guys were definitely more rock and roll than our normal band nights. Come back and see us in season when we have our regular musicians playing. They play a lot more wide genre and cater... More

Steve and Adie look forward to welcoming you to their newly renovated British Pub right on the water in Coral Bay. The menu features Skipper's Pub menu (wraps, sandwiches and appetizers) plus a great dinner menu of British food such as Bangers n mash, Cottage Pie, Steak and Guinness Pie, as well as some amazing curry dishes. Walk-ins are always welcome, but it is recommend to call ahead and reserve a table during high season.
