We were staying at the hotel and obviously we have been attracted by the in house restaurant. The chef is the owner of the hotel. Excellent food, high quality, high taste. A real pleasure. We stayed 3 days and every day we choose a different...meal. Fantastic. Wine list is great and the advices of the chef’s husband ( and owner) are excellent. Excellent local and Spanish wines. Service is extremely friendly as you can imagine. We felt at home, but the food was far more better than at home. Highly recommended then.More

IF you are a british tourist looking for cheap big steak n fries, maybe don't go there. The quality and the attention of the staff is what rules in this restaurant, even during NYE they managed to keep quite high standards from starters to dessert....metre is very qualified. the owner (a lovely French lady) is supervising the kitchen staff personally. prices are set accordingly. not for the mass :-pMore

We have been all around the globe and our favourite restaurant is Casona Santo Domingo! The atmosphere is precious, the owners genuine and attentive and the food is beyond amazing. Everything is prepared fresh, from scratch, with the utmost detail with regard to taste and...presentation. On our most recent visit, we asked about a meal we had the last time we were here and they created it for us the next day. This place is a gem.More

This was our 1st restaurant to dine at in Guimar. It looked really promising as we ordered our starters of King Prawns and scallops. They were tasty even though the prawns had not been degutted (something I have noticed in Spain). Main course was pork...orientated but unfortunately the fat on my chop was still mushy, so not to my taste. I did enjoy the vegetables in their jar. Husband thought his dish was a bit bland. I pushed the boat out and ordered the gastro dessert consisting of chocolate mousse, strawberry mousse, caramel ice cream, a lemon sorbet and espresso coffee. Husband had the coffee whilst I had the sweet dessert. Choc mousse was heavy which had a burnt aftertaste, the strawberry mousse was dry in an unappetising pastry case. The best part was the lemon sorbet. I left the rest half eaten. With a bottle of wine the bill came to 83.50 Euros. Our most expensive meal of the holiday.More

We searched for a nice place to have lunch and stumbled accross Casona Santo Domingo. Interior looks cozy, the waiter was very nice but the dishes: giat cheese salad and mushroom risotto exceeded our expectations!

This small and friendly restaurant serves excellent, well cooked locally sourced produce. The food is well cooked, nicely presented and the service is 2nd to none. I through recommend this restaurant. Well done to all who work here.

The environment is pleasant and the staff is ok (though didn't speak any English), but the food itself was below average, especially at this price range. It might please someone who eats meat with meat all the time and people who are so gullible that...they believe just because the server speaks French means that the food quality is excellent. At this restaurant, no matter what you order you end up with a big portion of overcooked meat with new cuisine style tiny portions of the same tasteless vegetables on each plate. The so-called potato pure (2 dollops) tasted terrible, and the butternut squash soup was so watery that it barely seen any squash (just enough to give a slight colour to it). So it was completely tasteless. We can appreciate new cuisine style meals as long as the flavours are there, but this place is disappointingly flavourless, and serves below average quality food new cuisine style and price. After the terrible starters and main courses we weren't tempted to try their desserts, so can't provide any review on that. It was easily the worst meal we ate on Tenerife and we tried all range of restaurants from cheap locals to the freshest seafood restaurant.More

We were served promptly and very kindly and friendly! They also spoke French which helped us :) The food was unbelievably good!! Creative, but not experimtal. Just really good food, extremely well prepared and deliciously cooked :)) .... and all that in a very pleasant...ambience and for an extremely attractive price level (only 1/4 of what one would pay for a similar quality on the central European mainland!)... e.g. all desserts for 3-4 Euros in a quality and creativity that one would wish to find more often. ... and with many dishes homemade... try the homemade plantane ice cream :)More

Lovely restaurant with great food The presentation was superb and the service very attentive Particularly enjoyed the pork dish in a wonderful wine sauce Just down the road is the port of Guimar where there is a lovely circular walk following the coast and then...looping back into the hills that you can do before or after eating Reputedly to be the site where the Black Madonna was found !More

Small, cosy restaurant in a historic building in old Guimar. We had three evening dinners here. Awesome! The first day we tried a gourmet menu to see what the cook has to offer. The other days we just followed the advice of the hostess about...the specialties of the house and her excellent advice on local wines. By the way, there is also a vinoteca in the same building.More
