We have visited The Black Horse on a number of occasions, but last night was superb. We were there for the burger night and my Sloppy Joe was outstanding. I must admit I was terribly disorganised and booked a table right at the last minuet but they were incredibly accommodating and were even able to find us somewhere in the... More

Popped in with a group of friends for a bite to eat. Great food, great service and even better views across the Valley. Have been here a few times and it has never disappointed

Our son recommended the Black Horse, having had a couple of good meals. The pub is in lovely surroundings with superb views - the evening we were there, the sunset was wonderful. It was busy and is obviously a popular venue that is family/children friendly. Meals are served in a conservatory, one of two rooms or the garden, where there... More

Haven't been to the Black Horse in several years but have heard good reports recently about the food so we gave it a go yesterday. Make no mistake the view from the Black Horse is gorgeous & on a beautiful sunny day (as it was when we visited) it's a great spot for a bit of alfresco dining. The bar... More

Off the beaten track, tucked away we found the Black Horse. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu is not extensive but has plenty of choice, unfortunately we were handed an old menu so my husband had to make a quick choice change. There is a nice conservatory that makes the best of the stunning view - for obvious reasons... More

Theres one main reason this pub is a gem. It has the most stunning views as far as shropshire. Another reason i love this place is because its off the beaten track and not everyone knows about it. Can we keep it this way please? Not a huge menu but the food is good. Pies are lovely but i do... More

Met friends for dinner. Amazing view! Good menu, lots of pub classics such as fish and chips, home made burgers ect. Nice food, good portions and friendly efficient service. Good selection of wines and real beers, ciders. What more could you ask for from a country pub.

We took friends from Hong Kong for lunch and were pleased we did - they loved the pub, the garden, the view, the beer, the food and service was speedy and friendly. So what more can you ask from a local pub? Prices are reasonable and having the option for a small or large plate is a sensible idea. I... More

Staff and service were good and friendly, but we were sat in the (i assume) function bar with all the spare stuff, empty boxes on the bar, greasy looking carpet, baby chairs stacked in a corner, odd pictures and out-dated (red) paint job. Tired looking place. Food ok. Whitebait good but tiny portion. Apparently known for its pies the beef... More

All four or my marks go to the stunning view, breathtaking. Also this is the first pub I have been to which offers free nappies in the ladies ( we did not take our three children...but awesome to see!). The food was below average for the price. Not entirely sure what the chef won the prize for in pies....as ours... More
