Me and my girl was looking for a place that offered a menu that felt a bit traditional with lamb or seafood that we assume is a common livestock in Gotland. At our visit they had a menu with lamb and fish for a starter. It was a well cooked meal that was worth it's price. Will definitely consider going... More

Staff seemed to be highly motivated and intererested in our well being. Food was above average. A bit pricy perhaps. The atmosphere compensates for a lot. If you ask you will be told a lot of stories of what is beneath the restaurant. Perhaps you should wait to ask until after you have eaten ;).

Nice, historic, rustic, nothing special. Decent German fare but price value not up to the standards I have set.

We went here after striking out at Bakficken next door. The food was quite good, but we were made to wait for quite awhile before anyone came to wait on us. Usually not a problem, but we were hungry! Staff was efficient not very friendly

On our first visit to Visby we were looking for somewhere that served scandinavian cuisine. This restaurant fitted the bill perfectly - simple, well cooked food served with a smile in a laid back environment. Just one word of caution the menu is not available in english but the staff will help you as much as they can.

We had had lunch here once before and liked the food. But this dinner was first rate. Asparagus from Gotland (delicious in season) followed by grilled trout with risoni was lovely. The restaurant is actually a number of very different rooms since it covers much of a block with several houses from different centuries, the oldest from the 12C.

In the oldest part of Visby in the main square is this gem of a restaurant. More suited to carnivores than vegetarians (hence the slight rating reduction) perhaps but nonetheless great food in a great atmosphere with super service.

There are plenty of restaurants around the old main square in Visby, and as in other towns it reminds a bit of a 'food court' ... Here, however, offer more based on food from Gotland, although the dishes tend to be similar to most places. Munkkällaren ('Munk Basement') has good service, moderate prices and tasty food. A safe bet -... More

Great location in the main square of the city, average food, not expensive, but not too impressive. Free wifi was a plus.

We spent late summer weekend at Visby in marvelous sunny weather. We had three evening meals close to Stora Torget. Here we were served lamb and fishsoup to our satisfaction but not above it. Service was correct and professional.
