A cosy small restaurant

"Bakfickan" is situated just in the middle of this medieval, wall-surrounded Town Visby. The dining room is decorated with things once used for fishing and sailing and the menu offers well-tasting seafood to a decent price served by a friendly staff.

One of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The waitress could not really help with wine suggestions but was overall very service minded. Reservations proved to be a definite necessity. Even in lowest season in December, many hopeful guests had to find dinner arrangements elsewhere due to lack of free seating. Intimate atmosphere and the tables are close.... More

A small cosy place where you get fish dishes, try "strömmingsflundran". During the summer you might have to wait for a table but it is worth waiting for.

Busy little spot with not much seating, you will need a reservation. The service was good and the food fresh and well prepared.

Reasonable prices, good fish, cosy with 25-30 seats. Good wine! A place to enjoy inside in the winter and outside in the summer.

I absolutely love this place. Small, trendy, situated at the corner of the town square so great for people spotting. Perhaps the best service you can find and the food is fantastic. Fish restaurant.

First we nearly missed the restaurant because its very small and looks like an old café. On the inside its very cozy and old styled. We ate lunch with included salad, coffee and selfmade bread. The lunch was incredible good. Its definitely worth visiting this restaurant.

Most places in Stora Torget scream tourist trap with bad food but Bakfickan is not one of them. Fresh, local fish is served and the wait staff are quick and accommodating.

We looked at the reviews by others and came to this restaurant when it was obviously very busy. Although it was September and a bit chilly we found a table outside and the staff made us feel most welcome. The venue, across from the ruins of the old monastery on the square, was full of atmosphere and beautiful. The food... More
