Fish soup and fried herring were both wonderful along with the fresh bread! Very friendly staff. Small restaurant so advance booking best.

Fresh seafood that you eat sitting more or less in the shop. Nice atmosphere and very good food. Quite a limited amount of seats, so even off-season and even on a Monday, reservations would be the wiser choice.

The owner of our hotel recommended this as their favorite restaurant in Visby. We could see why. It was laid back and the food was excellent. It is a seafood shop that also cooks up meals. We stopped for lunch and quickly became fans of...More

A nice little intimate seafood - or more precisely fish - restaurant in the center of Visby. A bit surprisingly, this restaurant being one of very few open mid-winter in this summer city, serves good food, with that little extra touch, to reasonable prices. A...More

We ate there twice during our 4 day stay. The food was that good! The chowder was superb, the fried herring was the best I've had. Service was very good. Their cloud berry topped ice cream was marvelous! would go back in a flash!!

It is likely impossible to NOT have a wonderful meal at Bakfickan. The quality and preparation of fish is of the highest standard. And the staff extremely efficient. During peak season a reservation is a good idea as, even with outdoor seating, the establishment is...More

We had some days in Visby and went twice for dinner at the Bakfickan. The food ist outstanding and very thoughtfully created! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and had a very good time. I'd come back to Gotland just for the fsh-soupe!

Certainly not a return visit, this restaurant was good but forgettable. Food was well presented but portions were small. Waiters seemed disinterested.

This is a tiny and very popular seafood restaurant which uses fresh, local ingredients. The service is quick and friendly and the food is brilliant - I definitely recommend the fish soup!
