On the last day of our holiday our family of seven (5 adults and 2 Children) dined out at the Woolpack, a beautiful country pub that had a lovely modern touch.
We were shown to our table and was very quickly greeted and welcomed and...asked if we would like drinks (table service only). A very well presented bar area had a great selection of cask, draughts and gins, amongst others.
Onto the food, a good sized menu with good variety, from tempura vegetables (they were beautiful), Steak Burger to Steak & Ale pie. I had the beer battered Haddock Fish and chips, the fish batter was crispy and full of texture with a great taste and beautifully seasoned, the Haddock was cooked to perfection, flaky, light and fresh, the chips were really stand out, probably some of the best I've had.
The service couldn't have been more helpful & attentive , my young son decided he didn't want his original choice (once it had been served) and wanted fish as he'd seen mine, we asked for a child's portion of fish on its own, and without fuss we were catered for, a short while after a fresh fried piece of fish arrived.
Desserts, we're of the same quality and standard to the mains, my mother in law said the Baileys profiteroles were the best she had ever had.
A lovely way to end our holiday.More
