Lovely lunch! Very friendly! So good to have somewhere that is dog friendly too, as these days it’s such a rarity! I think it was the owner who gave my little girl a Christmas present from under the tree and it was a fab present...too, she was so happy! Food was so good too, duck wrap & club sandwich! YUM! Also the kids nuggets... WOW 😅 Very Covid safe, very comfortable seating and overall a fab afternoon! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!More

My wife and I stopped here for dinner recently, having driven past it for years. We were sat in the conservatory which was well arranged for social distancing although somewhat leaky in the drizzle. The menu was broad enough for our tastes and the service...was swift. The food arrived in good time and was both hearty and authentic. The food was more expensive than anticipated, for instance £14 for pie and chips but we could not fault the quality. My Ringwood ale tasted odd and I mentioned this to the waiter who told me he would check the barrel but did not return with either a replacement or an explanation. This pub probably performs well in the summer when it can use the outdoor tables and benefit from efficiencies associated with a higher turnover.More

I came here for lunch on the last day before lock down. It was busy but we were looked after very well by our waitress carly. I visit this restaurant on a very regular occasions but thought we had better pop in before it shuts...for lock down. The food is superb and a great price for what you get. I cant wait to go back but will wait until the new year.More

Wouldn’t return Not sure what happened as the reviews suggest otherwise... After a chilli afternoon pumpkin picking we found this place near by with great reviews and what look to be warm cosy country pub, we where wrong, The place was empty! Yet we where...sat in the corner of a very cold conservatory, We then begin to look at menu and realise the shocking pricing for a cheese ploughman’s £14?! £9 for a kids meal! We imagined at this price the food would be amazing! We ordered our meals to receive a shamballs, Nachos where burnt, kids pizza was burnt on top and undercooked underneath served with 6 chips and still frozen veg! The Mac cheese was awful tasted like it come from a jar! And the garlic bread was £4,50 for half cut ciabatta bread! And 5 pieces of halloumi fries for £7 and they where squeaking on our teeth! We complained about everything and the general man replied if u would of told me sooner I could of replaced it, your not suppose to leave your table and he waited 20 min before checking in... He then fell backwards over a high chair and said why is that high chair there and looked at us... he put it there :-/ was quite rude and abrupt He took the kids meals off the bill but a whopping £42 for 2 wines, nachos, Mac and cheese and halloumi!More

A country pub with a unique atmosphere. The food was outstanding and service first class. Would highly recommend the venison stew. All meals freshly cooked and well presented. Excellent wines and all at a reasonable price.

Was staying near by on our holiday, visited this pub twice for dinner. Both times the food was amazing, home cooked feel but to very high quality would definitely recommend the pies best we’ve ever had (&we like pie) homemade cheesecake was delicious. Great selection...of local beers. Staff were very friendly and welcoming we have two dogs and were welcomed with treats and goodies. Very homely feel if we are ever in the area again we will definitely go there again.More

So, here goes.....A characterful proper English pub/restuarant. Completely compliant with all Covid safety measurements in all areas, unlike so many other places. Service is very friendly and genuine, we have visited on several occasions now for lunch and dinner. With out exception the food is...superb, excellent quality ingredients and flavours, everthing is cooked demonstrating skill and experience, in particular the fish dishes, best Skate wing ever. Portion sizes are generous and prices are proportional to the quality and quantity, great value for money all round. Thank you Woolpack.More

We were staying near by for a few days and passed this pub on a day out. We called in for a quick drink to check it out and decided to book for dinner, and it was the best thing we done. The food was...absolutely amazing. We had steak pie and chicken and bacon pie the 1st night, with a starter of ham hock croquettes and a pat'e and 2nd night had gammon and a steak with a pudding of sticky toffee panocotta and a pear and berry crumble. All of it was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this pub for food. The staff were friendly and food was served quickly and well presented. It was well priced and worth every penny. If i ever visit this area again i will most certainly call in for dinner.More
