I was pleasantly suprised at the alterations of the inside of the pub. It has opened up the former pub and restaurant by getting rid of the dated chince and making the restaurant more open and lighter. The problem is that the veranda still remains and gives a poor initial impression. It is clearly a pub for the more mature... More

I would recommend this place to anyone. Food, drink or accommodation. I stayed for 1 night and my experience was pretty much perfect. The room was superb. Nice and modern. Bathroom was a bit small, but we'll laid out and a great shower. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both very nice and we'll cooked. Staff were... More

Have visited what was the Cockhaven Manor we took our two granddaughter's on Sunday evening. Alterations not as bad as they might have been, it does seem lighter but part of the attraction previously was the " older worlde" look but at least they've kept the open fire in the bar area. Menu is now quite limited, even the specials... More

I first visited the Cockhaven Arms back in April this year and have recently returned because of how much me and my boyfriend loved it. It is just such a lovely place to stay, the staff are so welcoming, the food is really tasty and the rooms are just beautiful!! I cannot recommend the Cockhaven Arms enough.

Seeing the fabulous refurbishment is the local rag we thought we would give the Cockhaven another try, we used to visit every week but things had been allowed to slide! Initial impressions were really good, a lovely refurbishment, very stylish and appealing, great lighting and a nice atmosphere. The menu is OK nothing too exciting but the promise of good... More

Stopped off here after getting stuck in major traffic jam on nearby A380. First visit for several years and what a pleasant surprise! The place had only just reopened after a comprehensive facelift. We were very impressed. A big improvement on before when things were looking just a little tired. The atmosphere was much friendlier and brighter and the new... More

We had heard that the Cockhaven Manor had been furnished and called in on a Sunday afternoon for a glass or two and to see what they've done to it. As of 24/04 it was not quite finished [another week] but they have made it into a cosy pub-restaurant with up-market accommodation, as opposed to the barn it was. The... More

Now re-opened following extensive renovations. We have extended and developed a lovely bar and restaurant with open log fires and an intimate and cosy atmosphere which is ideal for informal eating and drinking. The new décor, lighting and the mixture of solid oak flooring, stone slabs and carpeted areas gives a friendly homely feel. The ever popular conservatory has been refurbished and is now more integrated with the bar area. We have also created 'The Wardroom' which offers a more intimate dining room for private parties and for our guests. Upstairs, the elegant landing has been sympathetically redecorated, whilst all the rooms have been extensively refurbished, some of the bedrooms have also been re-configured to create individually styled but contemporary suites, family rooms and double rooms. The changes do not stop with the building. A new Spring Menu features freshly prepared dishes, from pub favourites through to new creations reflecting contemporary English cuisine. As before, there is an extensive vegetarian selection and of course a specials board which changes daily. To go with this is a new Wine List (with over a dozen available by the glass), created by Tanners Independent Wine Merchants, local ales from Otter Brewery, as well as a leading range of other draught lagers and cider. Outside, there is a large beer garden with lovely views of the estuary, along with plenty of car parking.
